Agreed. People will always look over at the other Faction and want what the other has. This is just another thing that Blizzard has masterfully done in order to make people spend more time on WoW, thus giving them more $$$. They play one Faction, they get to 80 and see everything there is to see, then they see something of the other Faction and exclaim "OMG, I'M PLAYING THE WRONG FACTION!" and then switch over.Blizzard is masterful, I have to say.Good post, btw =D

Alliance is pretty good but i think we need something more then a boat/tram something cool like a....crazy gnomes rocket or.....a catapult like in the dark moon faire who wouldn't want to travel via catapult that hurls you very high and very fast it'd be fun and less boring then a grphon boat or tram BRING ON THE CATAPULT! =D
Yeah, both factions have their good sides. Personally I prefer Alliance but that's maybe just because I started there and stuck there. At some point I did level a troll to lvl 70 and it was quite enjoyable too. What comes to the cities, in my opinion Orgrimmar and Undercity are rather impressive as well. Maybe not as convenient and safe as many Alliance cities (UC elevator, anyone?) but that just fits the theme. Of course, it also helps to know the layout when raiding the places on my other characters. >:)On the topic of transportation, Horde quite frankly has it better. There isn't really much of a difference between boats (the entry to Valgarde is mostly a one-time experience anyway) and zeppelins but Alliance cities are just located annoyingly, at least Darnassus and Exodar. If you aren't taking a portal, you have no option but to get to Auberdine one way or another and then fly or take another boat. And you can't fly to Exodar, even tho it has a flight point - it's only for the one route inside the draenei starter zones. Stupid design, especially considering Silvermoon is connected to the rest of the Horde's network even tho it's just as instanced. That said, I think I should go level my troll again sometime soon.
Part of the reason for Stormwind Harbor was that, until its addition, to get between Stormwind/Ironforge and Darnassus/Exodar, you had to traverse the Wetlands, a level 20-30 zone. If you're a lowly level 15 night elf or draenei trying to get to Deadmines, this means a long and perilous journey through contested territory with high level mobs that regularly cross your path. On the other hand, I could create a Tauren character and take it to Silvermoon relatively easily, without leaving Horde territory. In other words, Stormwind Harbor was a long overdue addition which addressed an imbalance between the Horde and the Alliance.
I like all of my castles! In fact, we need more! More castles, I say!
My faction choice was pretty simple.Alliance has Gnomes. I like Gnomes. Thus, I play Alliance. And then, I found some awesome people Alliance side, so I stayed there.
I've always been an alliance, not because it meant anything to me when I started playing, but like you because that's what my friends were. I've often told them if they had not been playing and I'd picked up wow I'm 90% sure I'd have picked horde. Because a lot of my playtime prior to wotlk was pvp I was also envious of the horde racials, although I can't say I haven't shadowmelded myself out of and through many a situation.I guess in the end we have to look at it more as an issue of balance and not fairness. Blizzard wants to make sure we're all having fun at what we do, but make sure we're not all doing the same thing.
I've played both sides of the fence, in all aspects (end-game raiding, PvP, etc..) and they're pretty well even.I prefer the undead race for mages and rogues, human for warriors, I prefer the alliance cities, but I like to eat people when I kill them. It's a toss-up. :(
