Needs to be 1/3/5 dungeons for extra picks
Between this and covenants, I'm really glad that I didn't prepurchase SL.
Coolness I'm going to do a little bit of everything..that what was waiting for I can play all the content with no time gates..woohoo..one week I will do raids ..then the next week I do pvp ..do a bit of mythic..bravo!
This kinda fits into their idea of scaling down the amount of Loot we will be getting. BfA kinda went crazy with everything awarding Loot. This is a pretty good compromise. One thing I wonder though, is if you were to take a week or 2 off, and come back, do the options you earned stay in the Vault, or is it cleared every reset?
I don't understand how people can be happy with choices like this:Same for dungeons, you push your key all the way to a 16 from a 2, with +1 increments? You get to choose between one +15 item, one +10 item and one +2 item.If you are capable of running 16's why would you ever be interested in rewards from a +2? In this example there is only one real choice and it just as well could be a random m15 piece like today.Should you be able to run 1 dungeon and get 3x m15 loot? no.Should you be able to do 14 m2 and 1 m15 and get 3x m15 loot? i dont think so.Should you be doing 16's and getting reward from m2's? no i dont think so either. There has to be a better solution to this.
For the first version of this we see, it already seems way better than the old weekly roulette. I'm still waiting for the week where all the gear options will be boots, only boots, 9 pairs of boots.
this is amazing! now remove covenant abilities :) but this system is amazing, really!
Ah yes, make the Mythic+ system even more cliquey and elitist than it already is, that's a great idea. Punish people for helping out guild members with lower keys, so that they will stop helping in order to not affect their loot. I really hope someone over there sees some sense before this goes live.
What really irks me about this system is that you essentially HAVE to do your most challenging content at the start of the week. Under this system (if I understand it correctly), your first few runs of something are all that you will be rewarded for. Do you get a choice of what you allow to be applied? After completing a raid boss or dungeon do you get to dictate if that counted for your weekly challenges (like a bonus roll option)? When I was playing, my guild ran normal raid content at the beginning of the week upon reset as a means of just chilling out during the work week and we hit our progression content during the weekend. Under this system, my clear of normal mode (say 10 bosses) is all that will be counted. I also didn't do challenging mythic plus runs until the weekend when I had time to put forth the effort. Are people like me going to get shafted by this system and just have to wait until the weekend to touch dungeons and raids?
One of the features of SL that I am most excited for is that they want to curb the amount of loot we are being showered in. This entire comment thread is an example of why that is an issue: we've been trained over the last few years to expect to check a couple weekly boxes that let us leapfrog past normal+heroic raid level gear without ever stepping foot in that content. This entitlement trickles down into the entire culture of the game where loot barely even matters and you are expected to be 10 ilvls above the content you're trying to clear.*Considering you can grind M+ as much as you want for loot* I think both of the restrictions (15 for the 3rd choice and loot based on the lowest of the top X) make total sense in the context of what the goals are for loot in Shadowlands.
