I'm always kinda sad to see how Blizzard employees continue to quit, when they're not fired. And mainly when the concerned employee has to admit that he/she got a better opportunity to take. I'm deeply glad for her if she found a better job, and a project which seems to be more interesting. But it also proves that many people are losing interest in WoW, or Blizz. The art department is probably the only one which never disappointed me. Never. Even when the expansion was a full joke, as Warlords of Draenor was, each little thing related to the art team (environments, models, music) was well made, inspired, and sometimes deeply emotional. I only hope this department won't start to lose its identity as the others did. And that they will hire many people to bring a lot of new ideas. Because the game needs it...
She has made some absolutely incredible stuff. I recently was looking at some of the models in a model viewer and warcrafts art style has really gotten itself into a good place since WoD. Very sad to see her go.
To all those people who are downplaying her work: prop artists are the ones who are tasked to fill up the world with objects to make them more lively. This work is highly undervalued. We skim through the world for the highlighted objectives (quest targets), ignoring all others. However, they still exist and infuse the life in locations and sublocations.
An open article about something related to this lawsuit, surprising. Good luck Ashleigh, may the new opportunity treats you better.
I don't know how companies let good and long-term employees leave like this with the snap of their fingers. Blizzard should be on their knees begging these employees and offering them promotions at any costs so they stay. You can see Blizzard's big man harass ego hasn't improved if you let a person like this leave with a big smile on their face knowing they will be more appreciated somewhere else. /spit on blizzard.
Prop art is one of those subtle low-key elements of a game that a lot of gamers don't notice but makes a huge difference to how a game world FEELS. Very sad loss.
It depends on your perspective, a lot of people care more about the visual world and the fantasy then systems and stats
Transmog Glasses was a great addition to the game. I really like Daisy too.Dalaran stuff was i looked for a magic town. Cool with many detailed items.I will miss your art. Best of luck to her.I still won't forgive them for canceling the character customization option and I don't think they will complete it one day or another.
good for her! she is so skilled and amazing! Her skills went to waste at Blizzard
She made Daisy, she is a hero
Wishing her all the best, and thank her for her time, I love daisy and the glasses was long overdue!
If there's anything that has never stopped improving in WoW, it's the work all the art and world design teams do.It's magic. Really.Seeing a departure here is a great loss to the game, but I WILL be watching where she goes. Might be a clue what will be magic next.
Best advice i can give to everyone. if you 're not happy at your current workplace get OUT, don't stick around for the money or whatever, it will consume you in the end.Follow your passion and enjoy it.
Oh my God I love her work... Big loss! :(
And there goes another nail
