Time to make Runas a new class, probably a DPS with abilities like Yank Heartstrings and cooldowns like Yawning Void of Heartbreak Forever.
I'm almost certain that the female mage that Senegos' journal is intended to be Valtrois, as she fits in the character profile of a talented female mage who felt pity for the Withered. Sure, timeline wise it doesn't make 100% sense (as I'm pretty sure none of the main Nightfallen left the Suramar zone until after the campaign and raid as cured Nightborne), but it helps solidify the canonicity of the Emmigosa battle pet and also ties in Valtrois' connection with Stellagosa. At that point we can construct a rough history for Emmigosa- random adventurer (us) save her, Valtrois while passing through bonds with her, they spend some time together on the Broken Isles but ultimately they part ways so that Emmi can remain safe and Valtrois can join the Horde war effort in BFA. But that's just me. A lot of Legion's plot relies on important lore characters interacting with our faceless adventurers, so later when they need a canonical character for these events they do, like the actual leaders of the Class Order Halls or the wielders of the various Artifact weapons we see alongside us draining the power from the Sword in Silithus.
All in all, I thought the Suramar questline was the best in Legion, despite having to wait what felt so long to unlock it. Watching and helping a nascent underground uprising was a fulfilling challenge represented by a sterling array of story quests. So many of the usual macguffins were actually working parts of the plot - sending the land's magic to places where refugees needed it, growing the Arcandor as a treatment and eventual cure, stealing surprise and acting covertly. The central leaders were all individual character, whether silly or exasperating. And I felt like this was a good direction to go in.I am very pleased to see more extended arcs for regions and characters, new and old. It's the story that draws me in and makes me want to progress, not the player power in dungeons and raids. I have done things like PVP and end-game content and risked the scary world of LFG starting in Legion *just to see the story unfold.* I might not be the best player - but I have played from the beginning and I love the direction the game is taking toward better crafted narrative arcs. If they can do that AND keep producing some of the best group dungeon mechanics and challenges for those progression players who love them, they win everything.
The mention of Runas nearly made me cry, good GRAVY that was a good quest; Jim Cummings really made that character something else.
Wrathgate, Suramar and now this Questlines, are among the BEST Questline this game has.
I was so sad to find out Nightborne didn't have Withered customization options, I wanted to be Runas!
