Yeah, we should totally destroy yet another RPG aspect of an MMORPG because of a single on use ability with a medium cooldown. Nah. At the end of the day, Horde racials are still a fraction of a percent better, sure, but how much of the WoW population is at the point where that fraction of a % is gamebreaking, or even relevant? .0.1? Poepl have complained about this since MC. At the end of the day, if you want to find a serious raid team, its easier to go Horde, because that's where the people are. Changing up racials wont change that. There is 15 years of work on the horde sdie at this point.Server transfers are bread and butter dude. There is no way they are making them free, ever, except in some instances of server overcrowding.
This is why Cross Realm Mythic needs to be released sooner (or when Mythic opens) so those who aren't part of large guilds or servers can see Mythic before the next patch instead of waiting for the lower populated faction to get 100 First Kills on the last boss. Shouldn't be too difficult to code the Hall of Fame achievement so its restricted to where all players participating are from the same guild and server, and thus allowing those Mythic Guilds to still get the achievement while allowing everyone to see Mythic.
About time
Back in Vanilla, I was Alliance. With BC, I rerolled Horde and never looked back. What I abhorred about Alliance was all the "deliver this letter to that person" quests. I didn't feel like a Paladin or a Mage. I was a level 43 Mail Courier.
I wish I had so much times as you guys do! I have no chance to progress Mythic Raid at all because it is mostly (99%) in dedicated times during the work week (7-11pm). Now this is it! Weekend M Raid times bois! The first 3 are pretty free :-P
You explained the faction imbalance perfectly Sinangelus, and why it is occurring. The only thing I feel should be elaborated on more is the fact that Bleeding Edge guilds, feed off CE guilds which take from "casual mythic guilds" and slowly progresses down the line. You are correct that even though it might not be affecting the Heroic and Normal focused guilds on Alliance atm, it will eventually reach them. And as more and more people move to horde and leave alliance, that pool that the big HoF Alliance guilds get to feed off of gets smaller and smaller. I'd personally be interested in the information on any new players picking up the game on where they go, Alliance vs Horde and what the server population is on where they choose to play, I'd assume the amount of new players is rather small or even including returning players, but my bets would be if they know people who play or old guildies/friends, more likely than not they are being corralled into High pop horde servers, also compounding the faction imbalance.
