Main problem with current crafting (and reputation) is that its virtually useless for gearing - by time you can craft (its even more visible with reputation gear - and its not even true unique appearance) you usually already have better - if they at least make it useful for alt gearing - then it would make more sense.
To be honest, the gating behind a raid isn't the end of the world, I don't raid but do M+, so will get better eventually. What I would like to see is it being Acc bound. I won't raid on many of my alts, and my main is an Engi/Scribe so only useful for helm if I do raid on it. So overall it's a massive waste for me, even more so on my old main which was Alch/Ench8.2 overall is very alt friendly to get them going, but there are a lot of features which would be better off Acc wide. War campaign for me, cba to do it more than once, this forge, hell expolsum BoA would be an improvement too.
I actually crafted the BoD item, and I did scrap and recraft because the Bwonsamdis and Expulsoms were fully refunded. The 415 was not very attractive by the time I could do that, but it was still feasible with full refund... I replaced that item two weeks later with a better drop. Now, the station means I will do as in Uldir, completely IGNORE this retardation. Expulsoms are too hard to get, and the cost of recrafting, already ridiculously high, will again exceed my "developer bullcrunchy tolerance level".WoW has a big problem, and this murdering of professions, to be honest, is absolutely expected from leadership taking pride in belonging to the ranks of "Elitist Jerks". You see, those people are quite often preaching about tolerance and openness, but in fact, they are literally little Hitlers inside: there is ONLY ONE true right way, only one true right gameplay style, and everything not conforming to their ONE TRUE vision must be destroyed or made ridiculously unpalatable. If they make concessions, like with the crafting station here, they only serve as a convenient excuse to mask the true change, which is a radical increase to the material cost and the fact that the gear is still BoP, which literally rolls back more than a decade of development. The last time this game had such retardedly closed crafting systems that directly locked you into a profession that made your armor type was in BC.Of course, this all hurts the game as a whole. In progression raiding, a single pull can cost several thousand gold in consumables. Previously, you could at least decide to sell off mats or crafteds, now you literally have to run paid boosts, unless you're enough into esports to actually make a living off this and be able to play all day...
Short:This is Bantha Poodoo. Big time. There is no reason to waste time on it. You can not sell the crafted item, and by the time you unlock you will have better gear. Grats blizzard you just killed most of the professions in the game which was a huge part of it.What will be next? Battle royal mode? Don't be lazy to make content for crafters...
Ok I got that part Ryethe, BUT where is the PROFESSION enjoyment? Where is the craft something good / cool? It is is cool to collect little things spider web + fish scale and this and that to create something unique armor but this? "be happy we removed raid components for the craft but you MUST do raids to unlock a crafting table" ... which is the same thing except 3-4 exp from now nobody will remember how to unlock it :D. Which would be OK if there is anything else to craft but there is nothing... :(
Please stop with that nonsense. These items are useless for the most part, no one is gonna burn that many mats on rings they can get better of in mythic +, raiding
These systems makes crafted gears useless. You need to do harder raids to collect absurd amounts of meterials to make better "soulbound" items. But you already got better items from harder raids. So no need to bother with any gear crafting professions anymore. More more worse every expansion.
Are most of the participants in this thread saying the casual player does not want ... or does not have the right .... to participate in a mythic dungeon or raid now and then? If all the "casual" players got disgusted with the way they are treated and left this game what would happen to Blizzard?
How does this work with alts? I have it rank 3 on my main, Do you have do do the full process all over again? Just wondering whether to power level some proffesions to make some gear
I mean i feel you, but tbh doing WQ is not suppose to get you end game gear. what you are doing is sitting pretty for welfare
Be aware that the Abyssal Focus is actually a crafting station in Najatar; located next to Grrmrlg, or to the left of the Alchemist trainer
Blizzard PLEASE increase the drop rate on the Eternal Ornaments PLEASE
