My favorite loot has to be the dark whelpling. The drop rate from this pet is supposed to be 1 out of 1000 but not for me. I killed 2894 whelps in the badlands before this pet dropped. (I didn't count. Just checked the achievement tab) It was such a frustrating grind for me since my guildie got the lil guy after 15 minutes a day earlier. It was totally worth it though. He's definitely the coolest looking whelpling out of the bunch.
The dragonsbreath hand cannon, hands down. I've had many loots of many qualities over the years, but nothing can beat a gun shaped like a dragon. It never failed to get comments and praise, and retiring it in BC was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

My most epic battle has to be in AV. As a person who has experienced lvl 60 AV, the one at lvl 70 seemed so boring with the quick win or loss and the absence of the old things such as summoning the ice lord and such. This one was different though, when I entered (I'm horde) it seemed we were loosing quite badly. They had already killed Galvangar, but we were holding out on Tower Point with almost every person we had. I quickly joined the fight and we stood at that point for what seemed like 20 minutes of non-stop fighting. It was almost obvious they were going to win, when suddenly we saw the Horde NPC druids running arround...Someone obviously had taken his time to turn in that batch of blood to start the summoning. Quickly pushing the alliance back to the middle we held that possition until the Ice Lord was finally summoned. With his help we quickly turned the battle when it was looking impossible (150 reinforcements to 300). We advanced to Dun Baldar quickly and sieged it. The Alliance somehow managed to kill our secret weapon on the way, so now we were even. What followed was an Epic battle on the bridge to Dun Baldar with a huge melee where everybody was trying to knock out as many enemies as possible before dying. By that time the new talents of Wotlk were introduced so we also had quite a few shamans and mages knocking people off (Thunderstorm & Blast Wave) the bridge which was quite fun :> The battle ended with the unbelievable score of 13-0 for the Horde.Edit: If it has to be a epic drop...well most definately the DUSTBRINGER =D Why? Because it's the blade of the Crimson Landlord, owning you with 70 fire dmg procs :V
My most epic moment was when a guy asked in trade chat, "how much does sell for?" I instinctively responded, "ask a vendor."
I would have to say that my most epic loot would be my Scorchling pet. I'd been trying to find a good group to kill the boss for the Midsummer fest all day. I finally get a decent set of smart players and we kill the boss 4 times. By the last kill i'd already gotten my dps cloak and didn't think there was anything else on the guy that i might want. Lo and behold the Scorched Stone drops. I had no idea he dropped any kind of pet. Everyone rolls low Needs and i win by 2 (44 to 42)points. THAT my friends was a lucky day.
Sorry for being boring, but it really sticks in my head and probably will for a very long timeMy most epic...http://www.cuckhead.com/?item=439514 friend of mine ever since we found out it existed from the day we hit 80 kept working on perfecting our strat (no pun intended) to get this mount.Without reading any guides on how to do it, I think it was our third time in there and we got our first one. More specifically I got the first one.The mount itself really isn't what made me happy. More that we were able to pull together and get this feat accomplished. I ride around on it every chance I get to remind myself of what we did.
I totally remember my most epic loot. I had gotten the Foror's Compendium of Dragonslaying. I was really excited about this as an up and coming protection warrior. I was in an iffy guild at the time, that didn't quite have Onyxia totally on farm status but, it was close. So I went in with the guild as a protection warrior, using my little Typhoon (Haha) trying to do as much damage as possible. Now, as I'm sure everyone remembers the strategy for Onyxia at the time was to split the raid into two groups along the back wall. Well, before the raid I had spoken to the main tank about dropping the sword so Onyxia could breathe on it, making sure I knew what I had to do. He explained it to me, told me that when I right clicked on the sword that there will be targeting icon on the ground for where I want to throw the sword. (Kind of like Blizzard, Flamestrike or some other kind of AoE effect)Since I wasn't much use as damage and definitely couldn't tank the boss, they just had me stand in one of the two groups and just use my xbow to do slow DPS. I didn't mind, I was going to get my sword. So, we get Onyxia down to low health and the tank calls for me to drop my sword in front of her so that she can breathe on it. So I stay in my little group and right click my sword, fully expecting a target on the ground. Except I realize that there's no target, it just dropped the sword where I stood. Well, at this point I panicked, thinking I wasn't to get my Quel'serrar that week. So I scream over vent that the sword dropped my feet and there was no target. Now, I'm not sure what our main tank was thinking but he decided it was worth it to turn Onyxia towards half of our raid so that she could breathe on the sword. Then of course, when she breathed on the sword, she breathed on half of our raid which killed them all wiping our raid. Now, it wouldn't have been so bad if it had stopped at that. But, we were going for another try. Somehow I talked them into letting me hearth, go to Dire Maul and reget my sword for the quest so that I could try dropping it again. I got summoned back and was extremely happy and confident that I wouldn't have any more problems. This fight I decided that I could DPS along with the melee DPS. So I took out my Typhoon and started the fight trying to do some damage. See, my main was a mage and I never had the rules of melee'ing Onyxia explained to me. Apparently, she does a tail whip that can knock you around the room if you stand behind her. So of course, where do I stand?..I stand behind her, of course! Just so that I can get knocked senseless by her tail. Not only did she send me flying, but I landed perfectly into the whelp cages which released a ton of whelps onto the raid. Too much for our mages to handle so, the raid gets overwhelmed and we wipe. By now, I feel pretty crummy, wiping the raid twice. After that, I did absolutely nothing in the raid and finally did it right. By the end of the night I had gotten my Quel'serrar! Although, it sure was an embarrassing night and a good lesson in humility. I will probably never forget that night.
