Thanks, I feel old now.
BEST RAID in WoW history!
Wrath is pretty hype. I'm kinda excited for Wrath Classic.I'm also a bit concerned that it'll lose its magic since I wasn't here for it the first time and I enjoy it as it is now.
Can't wait for this phase in Wrath Classic! I loved doing Ulduar back in the day, even if I never killed Yogg or Algalon back then.
Whenever someone likes to reminisce about when Blizzard games "had polish" I like to remind them Ulduar had like hundreds of bugs, with Ignis, FL, etc etcDoesn't mean it wasn't one of the best patches in the game history, it set the way for Heroic modes, and casual end-game zones, and I had a ^&*!ing hell of a time going under the world using the speed boost on the siege engine and falling through the ramp in FL
I get it wowhead. I'm really really really old.
Ulduar was an awesome raid, but it was also the raid that really started to burn me out on raiding for real. It seems strange these days, but the prospect of clearing the raid in different difficulties killed my interest in raiding - I came from TBC with the sometimes (very!) difficult raid bosses, and the rewards for clearing them were tangible in that you got to see more of the raid, sometimes earning the right to go on to other raid instances like with the Hyjal/Black Temple attunement. When that reward shifted into seeing the same raid again, but more difficult, I really started to feel the burnout creep up on me. I quit for real when we were working on Yogg-Saron's hard modes and I've only ever raided casually since. Of course it didn't help that WotLK was the first expansion where raid loot was no longer handcrafted but made according to calculated formulas, so that killed another reason for me to enjoy raiding.
I remember skipping class to play then found out an 8hr maintenance lol.
One of the best Raids ever! <3
I really wish there was some way to turn off discord notifications for filler articles like this. I really don't need to know the anniversary of every patch that has ever happened in the history of WoW the day that it happened.
What a time to be alive. Miss those days.
This is why Classic versions of WOW are pointless. Ulduar content is still in retail WOW and you can enjoy it at any time, just like the entirety of BC. Just wish they added vanilla content back to retail and we would have the perfect game.
First time I ever did progression raiding was in WotLK (I started playing at the very launch of TBC), and some of my favorite guild raiding memories were made in those halls. Even though it took me until almost half-way through MoP, I finally got Herald of the Titans, which I wear to this day. See your world through my eyes... :)
