Cool another expac where I can ignore Surv. Makes gearing up a bit easier, and I don't have to worry about relearning it.
They could bring back the MoP ranged SV under a new name as 4h spec. e,g, name it "Demolition"...Then everyone could play the hunter as they like.Druids already have 4 specs, so it is possible.
i think, they wanted survival melee spec and traps specialist, but they lost somewhere in progress, his identity. I love Survival hunter, i play it since TBC and i am ok with melee now. Only, this spec missing something for u want it bring to raid table, some raid Survivality CD? or traps something like locks curses. And i am happy its meta now, but not agree why.... because overtuned tier set, just because numbers..., i want listen from my raid leader "we need u on survival because we need your utillity" or something, not "can u switch to BM or MM"....Give spec identity, do it master in survivality because its big paradox.. if u playing "survival hunter" with no "survivality"... :D only what we have is turtle and FD... and FD only with conduit. So do explosive trap baseline, only knock part as talent.Traps with some benefit or just weakening enemys.Get him something like rogues Feint, AoE dmg reduction on shot CD, also direct dmg can be part of talents.Bring Aspect of Survivality, something like 20% reduce dmg to party/raid for 4 second maybe on long CD. 5mins can be.Shorter CD on Aspect of Eagle will be fine.
MM can pretty much do RS they just need to add black arrow as a talent choice with wailing arrow. Have black arrow give the lock and load effect back in MoP and have it affect certain other talent choices like explosive shot or just have black arrow talent also give Explosive shot that replaces Aimed Shot. Then in class tree maybe put a useful bomb or something new to replace explosive shot. I'm just saying it can be done but you know Blizzard nowadays.
Thank god. As a Survival Main I'd very much prefer if people that don't like the spec stop trying to push changes those of us that main the spec don't want.
