I'm rather indifferent to the change. However, there's a new bug. When the other four marks are cleared, the symbol still appears above the tank's head. That's causing more stress than the previous iteration of thundering ever did.
Relax guys, positive or negative its the same. Just we can clear with ranged now instead of running into frontals
Some of you are saying it's a terrible affix in the first place..I'm sorry but its absolutely not a bad affix.Prideful was anti-fun.It creates high risk - high reward scenarios.Sometimes it comes in at critical moments which can give you a good boosts to DPS in a tough fight where you need to push.Sometimes it comes in at critical moments which can eff you up pretty bad you if you hold the buff too long and now cant clear in time because you have an AOE around you, that would otherwise kill someone. You need to think about if you want to maximize it. Pick and choose the best moments. Have a bit of foresight.Edit: Grammar
Good first step.Second step is to remove it totally.I am sure they will get there.
Worst affix ever, just remove it. It's not fun at all.
This is a slight improvement for an affix which should be thrown in the garbage completely. Boggles my mind how that m+ developer in the interview say they are overall happy with it. Shouldn't be surprised at this point because of how blizzard has shown they have no idea what players actually want when it comes to m+ and insist they know whats best. I've lost all respect and hope towards the m+ devs, dungeon designers, and PvE balance teams. They've spoiled an otherwise good xpac for me.
But does the tank still get stunned when the dps don't clear themselves. This might almost make pugging bearable.
I would comment on that change but I am stunned by my teammates...
I'm actually sincerely interested in how the devs never realized until now--several weeks + designing and PTR time later--that this was an issue. Do they not do any content over a +10 at Blizzard? Or perhaps never turn off god mode when testing their own affixes? Or perhaps never test it at all? There are so many dungeons with dangerous frontals, some of them spammed pretty often. This was such an obvious problem. I grasped this instantly when the tank started kiting the shieldmaidens in HOV--all casting their frontals at different times--and I was supposed to somehow jump in and clear thundering with the tank without dying. And that's just one example mob in one dungeon. But somehow people whose job it is to design this didn't realize it or care to apply such a simple fix for so long.
Only got to test it once, but Thundering went out when one person was running back. They didn't get it applied at all. So, 4 people... Three negatives and one positive. This is a massive change if it's consistent. That means that when one person is dead, you still don't have to clear with the tank. It makes the pressure far less, and even gives you a bit of DPS to compensate from the dead person. Is this a one-off situation or a coincidence? :)
thundering isn't that bad? if you're screaming for it to be removed mayhaps you're a noob?
