if pets from the afterlife can come into azeroth and we can go into the afterlife than there's really no difference or separation between the two.
You assume that the world of the Shadowlands is some kind of spectral world.
It isn't.
It's different plane of existence (there is certain evidence that it isn't even a naturally formed realm) closer to the actual Death realm, where Death magic is stronger, but that is still real enough for the perceptions of mortals.
BTW, this will also be the perfectly logical reason why Cov Powers don't work in 10.0 content, as we canonically leave the Shadowlands.
If you want a different explanation, the beasts we see in the Shadowlands could be deceased beasts of the Reality plane, so the pets we use on Azeroth would actually be tamed creatures from our plane.
Or they were given 'mortal' bodies in Oribos.
Either way, the real-life reason is, as always, the Rule of Cool. Gameplay first.
There are enough impossible and unrealistic things on Warcraft and other Fantasy setting. Just go with it, suspend your disbelief.

I appreciate the thoughts. I am concerned because I would want to love my pet but also wan to understand its nature, and what it is, what will happen to it when it dies, how to care for it. On azeroth my hunter and pets are simple to understand, I just wanted to grasp the concept that the animal standing next to me on azeroth is supposed ot be there and is ok being there, not some weird experiment where I'm allowing a denizen of a dimension that isn't supposed to be here, be here. I like the idea of the shadowlands being something that naturally occurs as/after life expires, but I don't fully understand anima still, not because it's too high concept, because it's not explained well when it is explained. Don't get me started on how many of azeroth's races wouldn't even be going to the shadowlands or dying at all if it weren't for the old gods. did the old gods intentionally or not, give constructs souls, seems like the old gods being 'responsible' for some races ability to pass and move on into the shadowlands, would have embedded some as sleeper agents that when awakening in the shadowlands, the souls, created by the curse of flesh, would act on their behalf or be weaponized. I find it odd titans made constructs (with or without the ability to die? with or without he ability to go into the shadowlands after breaking down or dying?) yet if it weren't' for the old gods, those constructs wouldn't become the races who could die and move on into the shadowlands. Unless the titans use anima/souls as an ingredient in their creations, and those creations would have naturally gone to the shadowlands. I haven't seen any mechanomes, troggs, stone/metal/rock things in the shadowlands, which makes me wonder, at what point did the cures of flesh CREATE a soul/ability for the new fleshy version of the construct, or, at what point did the curse of flesh turn the construct into just the right amount of life, that when the life died, the life's soul was recognized as an entity in needing to move on? etc. I mean the old gods being void related, made it possible for life, which made it possible for the soul, which made it possible for the soul to go to shadowlands. either anima/soul was an ingredient in titan creation and was alreayd present in their creations, or, the old gods/void abilities are why a bunch of races can even have an afterlife.

Is that so? Even on Azeroth, you can encounter animals your Hunter trainers in Org/SW could never have prepared you for. The lore-wise taming process spans days, weeks, years, getting to know them, finding out what they eat, which weather is bad for them and so on.
And that's just for "simple" beasts. Hunters can tame Spirit Beasts, which are presumably halfway to Wild God status,
fel-
or
void-corrupted
animals and outright
elemental creatures
.
A beast from another plane of existence poses a challenge, but none that's too much for a skilled Hunter. And a truly great Hunter would take care to avoid hurting the beast in the process.
