I don’t play Druid but I would love all the Druid Races to receive the BfA Druid form treatment, if they made good solid Worgen Druid forms I would main one for the rest of my life.
Adding content for Soulshapes which is a temporary system is.. cool. It'll really improve existing feature outside of SL for sure!
Seriously....who asked? There are more pressing matters that require fixing in shadowlands like actual content perhaps?
Blizzard, I don't know if you read here but, if you see the people who like druid forms and shaman totems, you know, the signature aesthetic spells and ability visuals that are race-specific and culture-appropriate, offering reflecting our identities? All of our spell and ability visuals, animations, and sound effects, should be represented by our race's and culture's identity as they've individually honed and developed their arts according to their beliefs, traditions, lands, ideals, affinities, adeptness, heritage, etc. Proof is every new race people are excited for totems and forms, why, because they are signature and fitting per race. All spell and ability visuals, animations and sound effects should have cultural identity. Not just race specific forms for druids and cultural appropriate totems for shaman. We all cast the same looking stuff no matter the culture and it’s a missed opportunity. Next expansion feature is grand overhaul of race-specific, cultural-appropriate spells, abilities, animations and sound effects. Each of our beloved races develops and hones their culture’s version of an art (class) and it should be reflected, uniquely, in their spell and ability visuals, animations and sound effects. Not a cosmetic, not a glyph, not some outside system. It should come with the race.As cultures have nurtured and developed their arts differently, personally, and in tune with their own histories, traditions, ideals, beliefs, heritages and unique locations, spells and abilities should visually respect and reflect the race who wields them.No point in being excited for new playable races if there's no identity and everyone uses each other's graphics and visuals, and we ignore our special backgrounds, unique cultures and signature arts. The reveal that would get me excited at Blizzcon would be culture identity in our kits. Race-specific, culture-appropriate spell and ability visuals, animations and sound effects. We cast the same looking stuff no matter the culture. Pandaren sorcerers (mages) having cloud serpents in their spells and craqckling with jade colored magic. through their culture's understandings and through their teachings of yulon, their version of ‘mage’ spells has developed differently, separated form the rest of the world on their own island and turtle, where as an ancient culture they honed their skills, developed their wisdom, followed their own traditions, upheld their own ideals, and beliefs and whose teachings from the celestials infuses and enriches their lore and version of their arts. their magic should crackle with jade color and summon cloud serpents that whip around the caster before lunging toward the target, as a pandaren sorcerer's skills would, being developed differently and in tune with yulon than other cultures, be more exotic and original to them. Imagine a sorcerer who conjures cloud serpents as their animations for mages spells. Think sorcerer from ancient Chinese folklore, a dragon summoner, or Shang Tsung! Gong sounds or effects accompanying some spells or abilities. A simple tea or brew drinking animation for at least one spell or ability for EACH classes is a must.vsNightborne ability or spell animation could look more night-themed, dusky with bits of starry dust swirling within the spell or ability visual effect. Perhaps quills that scribble and tomes that flit through their pages accompany the nightborn as part of a spell or ability animation. hands flow gracefully, portraying the wizardly nightborne’s perfected art, yet whimsically like a scholarly magician’s.A nightborne’s melee animations should have flare akin to fencing maneuvers and their refined spell casting animations could move elegantly, inspired by olden day French dance and etiquette.Sun walkers and seers, Tauren ‘paladins’ and sun priests, should have sunlit and warm themes. Calling golden firebirds down from the sky that sail toward the target, animations that have them kneeling playfully, calling a warm sunbeam to heal, manifesting a fire whip, fiery feathers and sunny animals, drum beats during some abilities for sound effects etcNight elf Druid’s tranquillity calls the calm of night to the sound of woodland growls or cricket chirps, or to the dreamy plucks of harp strings. And their efflorescence places a lantern that calls a moonbeam or a gently hooting owl soaring around, or to the soothing sounds of a relaxing wind chime. While a tauren’s tranquility may be to play a wood pipe or raise a magical leaf or feather into the air and call an inspiriting whirlwind of colorful leaves or flowers, refreshing the weary, and their efflorescence could be to kneel or beat a drum to grow a patch of meadow grass or wheat that grows and heals.A highmountain Tauren’s tranquility could be be playing a pine flute carved from the branch of a pine tree, which calls the snowy winds down from the mountain, reinvigorating friends, and for efflorescence they toss a pine one or magical seed to the area and a small pine tree sprouts upward and grows while refreshing, cool scented winds, or eagles soar around.Orc shamanism should have ancestral graphics or be more primal, and blow through a horn for some abilities, and animations should be more mighty than a Darkspear troll’s who is more agile and with jerky movements and whose kit should be more jungly or voodooy, with frog sounds echoing and shaky beads/talismans/skulls.Night elf priest’s spells and abilities should be moonlight inspired, with radiant beams and glows and moon wells/statues.A pandaren priest could use herbal medicines, teas, and healing music, as well as seals/ritualistic items, and chi-ji themed spells.Undead warlock could hone in on their theme and the aesthetic of a dark sorcerer: cauldrons, black cats, large books/tomes, twisted spells, etc. I don't really like demons or a warlock's connection with them, I try to use talents and spec that is not so demonic, more witch-like or dark wizard/dark magician-like. Though of course even dark sorcerers and wizards, ritualists, etc, communicate and sumon demons so it's ok. I wish wow had a dark magician/sorcery class. An undead warlock can fulfill the dark arts kind of magic user. a dark magician spellcaster/sorcerer draped in shadowy/smoky spells This is the only thing that a Blizzcon reveal would get me excited for.New playable races aren’t exciting because the class copy pastes every other race’s/culture’s spells and abilities onto them, no identity, what’s the point of being excited for arakkoa, naga, ogre, ethereal, dragon, etc, if they get the same exact visuals and graphics as not their own culture’s, forsaking and betraying the history and traditions and beliefs and adeptness and development of a race’s/culture’s honed version of their art, as well as us players, and missing a necessary opportunity? This would be truly exciting and breath life we haven’t seen in the game for a long time, and into upcoming blizzcons and expansions.Next to playable Arakkoa, or a samurai rabbit race, and less cosmology, more inhabitant focused storytelling, this is the one thing I will be excited for in a blizzcon announcement or expansion feature reveal. Honestly race-specific and culture appropriate arts are what it's going to take to get me excited to keep playing/return. It can be a toggle so those who want to use default spell and ability visuals can, but other who love their race and culture can use nurtured art
Who cares about another travel form, give us glyph of the stars for cats and bears
they did
-Darkspear trolls: Tallstrider travel form with voodoo masks/warpaint, wild boar tank form with big mohawk along the back, bat form that can sit/land somehow-Worgen: nightmare courser/unicorn travel form with wolves teeth and wolf tail and spooky glowing eyes-Legion flight form that can land on the ground and perch upright like an owl. (I dont use the form becauseit bugs me so much that I cannot land on the ground/roof of buildings. That is one of the fun things to do with the normal forms.)
I'm a little late, but better than never. With this news popping up, not only I hope that the new travel forms will more or less follow what I had in mind for certain races, I still want to bring up other druid race forms that have a serious need of an update.Productive feedbacks and other suggestions are appreciated.Moonkin (just needs to be different from actual owlbeasts; plus I recall that some in the wild (ex. Mooncrazed Owlbeast in Val'sharah) didn't get the model update) Night Elf: Has NE eyebrows Worgen: Has their flight form's toothy beak; change the yellow eye color to orange worgen eyes Troll: their color palette should be akin to either the blue and yellow macaws or the military macaws; has a cockatoo feather mohawk to replace the antlers, and has tusks on sides of beak with white face paint like their bear formTravel (update cheetah model) NE: stag; Has with NE eyes and eyebrows Worg: stag; takes appearance like the original Horde stag, but with dark grey fur, orange worg eyes and replace tribal ornaments with Gilnean garbs similar to the flight form Taur: stag; similar to original Horde stag, but no fangs and has light/dark brown fur and garbs similar to HTaur travel form Troll: Raptor like Zandalari Troll, but is red or green colored and has skull/cat form ornamentsFlight Troll: update bat model to be like the Revendreth dredbat, while retaining its tusks and original colors/garbs; also has white face paint like their bear formTreant (add more polygon count) & Incarnation: Tree of Life (should follow the same color/style as treant) NE: original colored treant with purple leaves, and yellow eyes Worg: Dark grey treant with orange leaves, and orange eyes KulHu: pale treant with thorns and green shrubbery, and green eyes Taur: dark brown treant with pine tree leaves, and blue eyes Troll: original colored treant with palm tree leaves, and blue eyes HTaur: same as Taur ZTroll: same as Troll
make this account bound for all NF characters if i get that on main
I don't know if any devs working on these teams will see this, but, I am excited and have some unorganized thoughts...Suggestions/examples for druid forms:
Back in 2004, or earlier than that really, when wow news was slowly being revealed, when druid/shapeshifting class was told to me by my friend, I got excited, without knowing much even though I did play wc3, and thought we'd get to become squirrel and rabbit or mouse, and sneak into enemy bases undetected. I hope our name and any player character identification does away so we can hide among alliance towns and they think we're just natural rodents, meanwhile we spy on them, or pop out and attack! When I found out animal forms were large and utility instead of being able to not be recognized as enemies run by, I felt it was a missed opportunity.I would love to become a little squirrel and sneak into stormwind from a treetop or down a rope, or perch as a small bird on a roof, or sneak around as a mouse through the streets while no one knows its a tauren. This is your last chance to stop missing opportunities.side note but if you're listening and trying to stop missing opportunities, give us spell and ability visuals and animations based off our races and cultures, not just forms and totems, so that we/all classes reflect our people's identities, in all of our arts. Could we please get different ways to hold our weapons? I would like to walk with the bottom tip of my staff touching the ground. Like a traveling, hooded forest lord emerging from a thick shady woods, or a wandering monk with trusty walking stick staff companion. Also, attach a spell or two to our weapon animations. not every spell, but should we choose the option, perhaps holding a staff toward the sky or outward in front of us that a spell comes from, and definitely from wandsMaybe wave our offhand too, they are our empowering/useful belongings, therefore it would be cool to have a spell come from our book or fan or special object.I would be excited if all our races got new poses and weapon-holding positions / options for both in and out of battle.Maybe you listening will lead to features like accessory slots? A new feature or expansion thing. Visible accessories, personal items, keepsakes, profession items, meaningful objects, decoration on our gear, ornaments, adornments, belongings, etc. They are props that don't take the place of an armor slot, instead, they accompany it. Not to sound irritated but I've been asking for many years, stopped asking, thought I'd try again. Also, kind of disappointed and out of energy trying to suggest fun things for us and the game when you blamed your players. You kind of took the fun, and loyalty, out being your customer and fan. I stick around in case you do better. I will say it's also becoming exhausting with the lack of considering us when it comes to the story and characters. For instance, Sylvanas, whatever anyone's opinion of her is, as a character she deserved a quiet moment with her and her soul, we deserved to experience her in proximity to where her soul has been all these years. We should have experienced helping her sister who should have been on a secret quest to find, get, and present her sister's soul to her. That would have been a fun storyline throughout the expansion. But instead you didn't consider us fans or the game's history or decades of waiting for the day Sylvanas would reunite with/approach her soul. No quiet moment of reflection, no emotion for us fans, just a quick thrust of her soul out of nowhere and during someone else's scene, during a commotion of lights and noises, it was barely an afterthought and is a waste of many years of leading to what should have been a profound, heartfelt, compelling moment. We'll never get that moment now. It could have presented any number of ways but the way you chose to display it proves to me you did not care what we've been through with that story. Tolkien didn't have Frodo shrug his shoulders and flick the ring away, it was handled with care because his readers and characters deserved their long awaited moment. Did you think of us while coming up with that? Or your characters? Or the game, at all? How will you retain players or get those who left back by being so inconsiderate like that? You can lure with art and ornaments and even your stance on real life things, but when it comes to treating us and your character and therefore game as if we don't matter, how do you get those people back? You didn't consider us or the character or the weight of the/her story leading up to reuniting with her soul, a long awaited scene we've all often wondered about, to me that says you don't care about us, the characters, the history/story, or the game. Which is disheartening. You say you are listening but if you have been listening why didn't anyone consider us or the character when conceptualizing when and how the most effective and resonant way one of the longest awaited wonderments would unfold? I'm upset and fed up but I'm keeping an eye out for now in case you start thinking of us and do better.
Druids dont have their shaoeshifting from "nature". They learn it from the Wild Gods. Or Loa as they are called by trolls. Ashamane, Ursoc, Aviana and Malorne that taught the first druids of Azeroth how to shapeshift. Thus their forms. When BfA came out, we were introduced more Wild Gods and with it came a few new forms, from the Loa and Drust. So getting a HUGE range of freedom on shapeshifting is great, there must be someone to teach us. Now who the hell is gonna be the Wild God Squirrel, Mighty Loa of Nuts?
make different moonkin forms please... over 25 soulshapes and only one alternate moonkin form for the base spec lol.
Meanwhile, every other Covenant still has zero customization available for their signature abilities
I've always wished we could keep the manasaber cat form that we get when using the nightborne masquerade disguise in Suramar. I would love to see that as an option!
About time Darkspear Trolls got their own travel form. Hoping it's a raptor 😁
Giving us the Mage Tower skins would be a start. As it stands, I'm not really excited for one new travel form.
