And the entirety of the Alliance player base just shrugs. Is it apathy or do Alliance players just have lives and jobs?
And as usual devs dont do anything to tackle the ridiculous faction imbalance which has also destroyed warmode for many alliance players. No faction imbalance at all, just bad sharding am i right? ;^)
No, it's more that the big guilds have been shifting to Horde both for racials and to expand their potential applicant pool.
Part of me does wonder if this will cause a shift to Alliance. Guilds that are currently #150 Horde might be #15-20 on Alliance. Probably not, just a thought.
If you have higher chance of getting higher skilled players on the Horde side of the Faction war, you will obviously play as a Horde. Other option is to struggle to recruit high quality Alliance players (I'm not saying there are no, I'm just saying if for years Horde has been the bastion of PVE players, if you are interested in PVE you will go Horde to have easier time).
meanwhile on the Alliance side
Wow. The gap's that large? I balked when I saw the article mention that the Alliance Hall of Fame is basically empty while the Horde's is now full.
Wonder if Alliance hall of fame will close before of after 8.3...
This is the consequence of Blizzard spending the last 10 years gutting all Alliance racials for the sake of 'balance' while leaving the Horde's virtually intact. It's not even that the gap between Alliance and Horde races is that big. In fact, some Alliance races are actually better for certain classes. But the community's perception is that the Horde's racials are objectively better, and there's some particular cases, like Rocket Jump on KJ last expac, where a Horde racial's felt all but mandatory for Mythic progression. And that's how we've ended up where we are now.
There ALWAYS have been more guilds playing Horde than Alliance in high-end pve. It's nothing new.
I don't know much about this as I am too casual to bother with it but right off the bat if racial skill balance is truly in favour of Horde then I believe they should consider revamping them and making them more Quality of Life rather than dps and damage reduction or cc and interrupts. I'm talking about all of them not just Horde.

Blizzard will do nothing, game has REALLY gone downhill after MoP.
The bleeding of Alliance players towards Horde was slow at start, but turned into a full-on hemorrhage during Legion where whole swaths of mythic guilds swapped to Horde, depopulating many medium-sized servers. Blizzard watched this in silence. Some parts of community suffered more than others. Among these 12 alliance guilds you can see 4 Russian ones (Prestige Gaming, Bleached Bones, Black Lotus and Ingenium) and 3 Australian ones (Honestly, Gulch Trotters, Scared of the Dark), 2 Chinese ones, 1 EU-Spanish, 1 US and 1 EU-English. It's pretty clear that the US and EU-English communities are the most depleted of Alliance while Russian or Australian community is doing well, despite being overall smaller in number. A lot of this has to do not only with strong racials, but with skewed mythic+ community and bad server spread (Blizzard leaving too many low pop servers without help).
This wowhead news' comment section is the biggest example WHY there's only 12 alliance guilds killed mythic G'huun. 1) Non-stop complains2) Irrelevant blames3) Self entitlement and4) Childish mentality.Congratulations to those 12 guilds out there. You people are awesome.
When I first saw this article, I thought at least 20 Alliance guilds cleared Uldir, but only 12? I doubt that the hall will close for Alliance players before 8.3 drops at this rate...But a huge congratulations to those 12 who claimed their spots. Hopefully many more will soon follow!
