Kinda easier this way, instead of managing soo many realms
this won't fix anything, this is a problem that has been dragging for years, has been encouraged by both devs and the community the damage has been done, enjoy your dead game im glad my sub ran out enjoy your world of hordecraft wont last for long
You want to fix the faction imbalance? Get rid of the factions.Never gonna happen? Exactly.
Drop the bonuses. The rewards are completely at odds with the scenario: you're rewarding PvP activity with PvE stuff. *rolls up newspaper*No, bad Blizzard! Bad!If you remove the bonuses, the Horde pop will instantly lose the passive gainers, and just let PvP'ers do their thing. And if pops are still unbalanced? I see two options: Git gud at sharding, or revisit the whole stupid baseline faction idea. Seriously, there's a reason you don't see newer MMO's force players into a permanent faction choice. As long as you draw a hard line, you will *always* have some imbalance that's going to affect gameplay.I honestly don't care if they work it into the story or not. They could simply auto assign "teams" out in the world of world pvp, and put literally all players in a big pot for dungeons. If we've learned anything from BfA, it's that Blizzard really sucks at developing content oriented around faction conflict.
10% buff for everyone, bump that to 20% for the underrepresented faction and bump it up again to 30% for everyone when both factions are balanced. Make it a team effort to balance population rather than a punishment for the over represented faction and a small buff for the under represented faction.
I use War Mode on some (alliance) toons and not others. I also swap WM off and on quite regularly within that distinction. It depends what I feel like. Although sometimes i have to change to get in a group which is running the reverse of what I am. But it's fast to hearth, go to SW, change off or on and get back to the group/raid.This makes it better than a realm choice which is basically forever. The 30% bonus is attractive and means I'll use WM more than I have in the past. Which is the goal of the change and helps balance numbers. So it's a start. I can see that this is difficult for Blizzard to "get right" if there actually is a "right" solution at all. I mean when was (real) war ever about fairness :-)And who knows, maybe enough Alliance will start using it and there will be balance in the world !
That so-called 30% does NOTHING for me as a max level player. Even if I had to level an alt up, there is no way I would turn WM on unless you give me 30% increase damage.
TLDR: Horde = Alliance gets 30% buff? WTFBBQ? Alliance = we won't enable it anyway, so it's still 0% here! (Meanwhile Horde keeps running around with 10% buff in shards with 0 alliance in it therefore 0 pvp action.) Solutions? 1. Remove 10% "wq" buff. Instead put pvp-specific objectives that exist only in warmode (no, not just "airdrops"), encourage people to engage in pvp and get pvp specific rewards (pvp gear, marks of honor, conquest points etc.) Maybe pvp specific world quests like the FFA Legion ones? Just not something where you can grind NPCs really... 2. Improve scaling tech so people who are outnumbered or lower level aren't insta 1-shot. Wintergrasp-esque buff for outnumbered people so they aren't free kill. 3. Make it so people who just logged in, hearthstoned or landed from fp have the "honorless" debuff and it also makes them give no credit for the weekly pvp quest or other objectives. Would de-incentivize camping easy spots like fp landings instead of hunting people out in the world. 4. Move summon stones inside dungeons and raids, summoning is one thing that is extremely disrupted by warmode, first by having some people on some off makes summoning cumbersome (you have to get 2 people in the same WM state first), second if you're WM on it's easy to get constantly harassed and be unable to summon overall. Generally it should promote interesting combat encounters rather than fishing for "easy prey".
Quote:Faction imbalances in both PvE and PvP has been on Blizzard's radar long enough to make it clear that there is no easy fix.I call BS.There has been plenty of suggestions over the years.1). Balance the racials.2). Balance the classes and specs. (Honestly I have never, ever beaten a DH as a boomkin, not even close).Blizzard already gave a head start for this season when horde did the Waterfronts first and geared up quickly before they put in a minimum ilvl in or did people forget that?

Would de-incentivize camping easy spots like fp landings instead of hunting people out in the world. That honorless crap doesn't work in the past and will never work now. If you see a player from the other side you kill it ASAP without any discussion or looking to see if they are 'honorless'. People camp FP for easy kills. Worst that would happen is they chase the player until his 10 seconds of no honor would disappear.
This won't change anything. The alliance have been underrepresented in PvP for years now, the horde of always been more numerous, they haven't always been the best (WoD) but they've always been more numerous, they dominated most of the PvP realms numbers wise in group for donkeys years.30% won't convince a lot of people to turn PvP on just like 50% more honour didn't work on the BG front either, people who are not interested in PvP and it seems to be a lot of the alliance faction won't just suddenly like something they've disliked for years because of a 30% buff.
Nope, still not enough incentive. If I want to kill hordies I just go do a BG like a civilized person.
Honestly I think this is a really good idea, but a lot more needs to be done to make PvP more accessible to the Alliance, and newer players in general.
WM on for leveling, off for 120 level :)
oh boy can't wait for more 40 man alliance multi-boxing bums to ruin warmode again.
