Waited for... what? I still don't know about that.
"Zovaal: Can your mortal minds fathom...Zovaal: how long I have waited?Zovaal: Every event set in motion?Zovaal: Every pawn put into play."I don't know, at least like 20 years? From the players' perspective? Six months? The continuity of the store does not make sense at all. He put all his eggs in one basket, after "eons" - hoping that some champions on Azeroth would be born, overcome myriad challenges only to have the last hope be that we don't get ravaged by Argus? If we had wiped there, he'd be SOL? It's just not coherent for this, supposedly, master plan which has been thousands and thousands of years in the making?
dude's about to pull an argus 2.0; he may even resurrect galakrond for all I know, too bad we got precisely zero build up to whatever the heck is going to happen next; don't you miss the new expansion, world of warcraft: ass-pull
well, we can probably say that sargy had the first thrust
Reminder that not every event involving the Legion, Scourge etc. was 100% planned by the Jailer, he used the Dreadlords to influence events so they turn out in his long-term favor, but didn't outright shape them.
How cool would it be if by using this map we pull out the giant sword from Sithilis (too lazy to look up the spelling) and plunge it into Zovaal in the ending cutscene.
"Zovaal: Every event set in motion?""Zovaal: Every pawn put into play."ya too bad danuser and his writing team think "tell not show" is a good writing technique and we have never once seen the Jailer do anything remotely "cunning" or w.e that blizzard keep saying he is.for most all players still playing retail, Zovaal is this big bald dude who pretty much has done nothing all expansion long, yet they're supposed to think he's a threat
Putting aside the all too common ranting and complaining about story not adding up etc, I kinda feel there is still going to be a big OMG moment where ^&*! falls into place. Something significant has not been seen... at least I hope so.I really hope that after all this time I am not just a blinkered blizzard fanboy
"Zovaal: Can your mortal minds fathom...Zovaal: how long I have waited?Zovaal: Every event set in motion?Zovaal: Every pawn put into play."Not really, we still don't know what you did to be banished to the Maw, or why it was a bad thing or any other motivation for anything you do than "I'm an evil guy because I'm evil and I really love to do evil, and did I mention I was evil? Evil! Muhahahahahah!" Honestly most of us don't care about you other than as a loot piñata.
The story of the Jailor would have been much more interesting and "wow" if they really would have thought about that all time long. But the big issue is that you can really feel that they came up with the idea several years after most events Zovaal "planned" happened. It just feels wrong that every piece of Warcraft lore is unstable and can be changed anytime.
You say Zovaal is someone who's been imprisoned and has been making plans for thousands of years, only for it all to shatter in tiny pieces soon after he gets free and is about to taste ultimate victory?Uh. Where have I seen this before?OH WAIT.EVERYWHERE.< sigh >
don't worry, fam. a recently vacated Remonia will absorb the essence of Zovaal and fly off to be resurrected later...
Who even is this Jailer? We don't know the first thing about him after the whole expansion and now he is telling us he has been behind everything and that everything is part of his plan and we need to kill him. I mean I don't play WoW for its story nor do I care about it (I just want to see hype cinematic before next expansion) but this villain is just stupid.
