Looks pretty cool :)

so....the area above Gnomer becomes a quest hub or something? Is this just one more thing that anyone over level 5 isn't going to care about?I was kind of excited when I thought the gnomes were gonna get their own city back. It would have been awesome to see all the stuff they put in it, to actually get players to go there and not shun it like the NE and Dran. towns.
You might want to put a tag on it.
They should've gotten it back fully. And I play Horde. -.-> HEAR ME OUT FELLOW HORDIES! < If they retreat underground, we will see them less! This leads to less eyesores!
Woo! For Gnomeregan!
Tested out Operation: Gnomeregan, thought it was fantastic. It has a good story, progresses very well, and keeps the player interested in finishing the event. Overall I think it's the best pre-launch so far.
Hmm.Making your way through tunnels to reclaim a lost city. Facing swarms of enemies but who cares since you're uber and immortal anyway. You take down a big bad and go to claim complete victory, but then the unexpected happens and you wind up getting teleported back to the throne room with only partial success in hand.Seems... familiar somehow.Could use a cinematic. Or at least a cameo from Millhouse Manastorm. Worth the trip but not something I'm going to be chomping at the bit to experience again on the live servers.
I was unimpressed with the ending for Operation Gnomeregan.I did the troll side first, and there was a large fight with Zalazane at the end, a fair bit of dialogue (but not so much that it felt too long) and then we returned to the quest giver, victorious. Yay!The final fight for Gnomeregan -- meaning the last thing you have to kill -- dropped very quickly. The first time I did the quest I couldn't even find the target speaking before the horde (pardon the pun) of gnomes and allies dropped it. Then there was some speech, and... wait, I don't fight anything else?In regards to the actual workings of the final quests on both sides, it was rather annoying with a retribution paladin and my normal single target play style. Far too much chaos, I'd target one thing and by the time I got over to it... it was dead. I copied a premade death knight, and most of her attacks were similarly useless. The easiest time I had with actually helping out was when I went with a mage, set to frost and just rained down blizzard everywhere. Lots and lots and lots of yellow numbers. The mana regeneration and complete invulnerability make it easy to do this (if I'd tried to cast blizzard that many times on my real mage, I think she would have imploded from lack of mana).Short version: If you're going in and expecting to do AoE damage, that works well. If you're going in expecting to be able to attack single targets, expect to be re-targeting a lot. And trying to find your foe. Also: I copied my mage from the live servers to the PTR (but later used a premade mage). At level 63 she could do all of the quests up to Words for Delivery. The followup quest to go out to the staging area was not available.
the bigger question... being almost entirely underground... will Gnomeregan exist after cataclysm?
What makes this most interesting is what will happen to Gnomeregan the dungeon since Gnomeregan the city wasn't recaptured? After a big showdown with an army of lvl 80s, I seriously doubt it will go back to being the same old lowbie instance. Plus, I doubt the radiation will be clear by 4.0. Gnome/Steampunk-esque raid, anyone?
I'm kind of disappointed that Gnomeragan won't be captured. Gnomes need homes! Especially one farther away from Ironforge.
