Finally! That's great
Only took 15 years
Praise the gods.
A welcome change - Now How about giving us an unlimited ignore list?
another blow to boosters/gold sellers. very late, but hey we take what we can get i guess
Wow, I actually thought that was already a thing. Better late than never?
Nice. Very nice.
It was supposed to be like this for a very long time. I've seen it in patch notes. I forget when though. I even submitted bug reports because it wasn't working.
Finally!
Should also be adjusted to prevent whispers/etc to the ignored character. Plenty of times someone will ragequit and continually message you after ignoring you to make sure you can't respond.
GlobalIgnore addons until then.
Uh, I'm positive this was already how it worked in BFA. Did it somehow break since then?
now this is a nice change, glad its finally happening tho it should have been done long ago.
Thank god. Now I don't have to continuously re-ignore the same !@#$ty guild invite spammers across half a dozen farming alts. Now if we can just get people who do that kind of crap banned for spamming... that'd be a dream.
This already exists.
This is probably a good change for those who are being harassed by one person or a few. Some people do however use the ignore feature for more toxic goals. For example. I had just dinged my first level-cap Druid and that was also my first level-capped horde character. Hopped into some skirmishes for a weekly quest and obviously there is a lot I don't just automatically do yet on a Druid. Like shapeshifting appropriately and cycloning. Me and the other geared teammate lost rather quick, and this random other skirmish player writes "worst Druid player I've ever seen" and then "easy ignore". I think I tried to write a polite "Yo, I'm new to this class" but don't even think I had time before he had put me on ignore.Just saying. Ignoring, censoring etc. is not a good solution to everything. I ignore some dumbos who ignore me first or some stupid angry unhinged ragers, but then I regularly even on the same day or the day after remove them from my ignore-list. Because I don't want to over the years keep closing myself off from the arguably smaller and smaller playerbase and remove opportunities to see their groups etc. in the future when I might need them for whatever smaller activity. They and I probably forget about one another in a few days, and that's that.I'm just bringing this up to try and make more people think like this. Ignoring people (or blocking) in the heat of the moment is generally a good tool to have to avoid mental exhaustion and abuse. But if it's just a heated exchange after a bad group or in general chat it's not worth it. If people are really bad to you "again" (goes for all cases really), reason with them. If that doesn't work, "ignore" them. If they harass you still, put them on the actual ignore list. But maybe glance at the list once or twice a year and if you don't even remember the names on there remove them.I've rarely run into someone random I remember being a bad person more than 1 or 2 times. Disclaimer: I am not a girl so keep that in mind.TLDR: It's not worth worshipping at the altar of the ignore list friends. Most people aren't angry and toxic all the time. Emotions are emotions.P.S. I did not comment on boosters or spammers. Those are worth putting on ignore forever generally. ;)
"preventing them from matching with you in the Dungeon Finder" - NOT TRUEIf someone adds my char from the same server, doesn't matter if he is on ignore or not - he can still see me on dungeon finder. You can legit add a character name from the same server (not on battlenet, just ingame friend), without the other person's consent, without the person even be warned that he/she was added. And from that, if you add you can see where is the person in the world, what he/she is doing, if he/she is online or offline. WORK ON THIS BLIZZARD, to give players some privacy. PLEASE. Privacy issues, for those who are victim of harrassment , stalkers: Work on this please. If I want to be offline in the game, I can't. If someone wants to add me from same realm, they can see me online. I also doubt that if they create a level1 char, they are in ignore as well. We'll see.
Can this include people who we report in the LFG system as advertising boosts?
