Aww man, this garrison stuff needs to stop. I hate garrisons! I would be okay if they were optional for cosmetic rewards or something but not for actual progression. :(
Get rid of this system please, thank you.
Interesting. So it seems the only way to get resources is to actually play the game actively. Good. This way I won't feel forced to log in with each of my alts every day to do missions, because they will run out of resources eventually. Well played :)
You should be ashamed of yourself for this, Wowhead. This context-free post, in this climate, is only making the situation worse. I wish you'd have some ethics and not just be page view grabbers.Order halls are a great, passive feature that you do as a matter of course during your order hall campaign. They are basically no different to quests. You can lose troops, but they only take 30 minutes to rebuild - not like ships where you have to put time levelling up. You don't have to spend levelling up your followers. There is very little time investment in this, not much more than doing the quests themselves. You spend most of your time in the world doing these quests.
god damn it blizz are you ignoring the mistakes of WoD don't do this again third time is not the charm, the rumors that you are trying to kill the game seem more and more true each day cause this is how you kill your game off blizz.
Iam going to kill you blizz.... *pulls out a dagger* ....done ¬.¬
I think that this system was not the greatest addition to WoW, but I also do not dislike it. I am pleased that this setup is encouraging us to get out into the world, but that was never a problem for me in WoD. I never understood the people that just sat in the Garri and never did anything. Remember Blizz you cant please everyone, and thats ok.
I just hope this will still be ALT friendly for those of us who like to play with multiple characters. I really want to give it a try to play all classes and specializations before the end of Legion. In WoD I managed to do it quite well, but it also got somewhat boring to do the exact same things multiple times, so my hopes are that these order halls will bring a lot more variation to enjoy & explore. :)
Rubbish... :(
Seems like they are trying real hard to kill wow.
I do like the idea of continuing the bodyguards, with the added bonus of having others pop up to help. I definitely noticed things dying slower when I forgot to bring a BG with me on daily quests in MoP.
Considering Blizzard's response to reputation-grind feedback, I argue that altering, rather than removing, the Garrison system is the better decision.Primary Arguments against the garrison system: requires grinding for a class of players (min/max), isolationist, the mob mentality that's already opposed to the new garrison system. Primary Arguments for the garrison system: easier (central and minimal skill) access to items/gold, good value return for the time invested. Grinding: Having a full set of toons (each class max level) makes dailies a daunting task. I currently spend 20 mins. twice a day to manage my garrison, while running argent crusade dailies took ~20 mins. per toon! Would I prefer to travel throughout draenor to accomplish my dailies, like the blade dailies for argent crusade, which took you from northern icecrown to howling fjord? The garrison serves as a central node for many of the 'dailies' that would otherwise require flying from northern Gorgrond to southern Spires. This argument naturally shifts to debates about the daily system and if the game needs a grind, but that's beyond the scope of my argument. The central node daily system didn't add the grind, but it did shorten my daily grind. Isolation: Having interaction with players is an essential characteristic of an mmorpg, and the garrison system clearly undermined the casual/accidental interaction that a major city provides. Fortunately, this issue seems easy to resolve, as this new take on garrisons doesn't have individual player phasing, and has quests requiring a player to travel outside the hall. While we'll have to wait to see further implementation, it seems fair to say the isolation aspect of the garrison system has been reduced significantly.Content: Reusing data is an efficient method to produce content, and while we wouldn't promote only recycled content, we can appreciate a new dungeon, even if it took the content team a fraction of the time to produce because they reused raid tiles. As an example, if new content takes twice as long to create as reused content: would you have Blizzard created 5 dungeon with only new content, 10 dungeons with only reused content, or 7 dungeons with a combination of the two? In other words, a balance would allow for more dungeon content, while still adding new features. Therefore, if Blizzard can reuse the garrison system rather than trashing it, players would benefit! This covers my arguments for the revised garrison system, and I'd love to hear any feedback or insight, whether for or against the garrison system, that will help us develop a well-thought out opinion for feedback to Blizzard!
I think Blizzard has done an amazing job! Your Champion Missions take very little time and carry on while you can be out exploring, leveling, doing dungeons, all manner of things! Anything worth having usually takes time and effort - so send out your champions, upgrade your order hall, and unlock your final slot on your artifact...and PLEASE QUIT COMPLAINING! ^^ROCK ON BLIZZARD! :D
