Its a self defeating cycle that's just going to get worse before Blizzard even acknowledges the problem. Its beyond the point of racials, no self respecting business is going to move their corporate HQ with a wealth of talent in their market to a place bereft of talent. Guilds aren't going to transfer willingly unless there is a heavy incentive, or threat to do so.While everyone says cross faction, or do away with factions, I don't think that will solve the issues for the Alliance. With the stigma a very skilled Alliance player isn't going to have an easy time joining a Horde group. I gurantee groups would just kick Alliance on sight, or just be up front and post "No Alliance" in group finder listings, It would just end up being worse than the raider IO drama..I don't think the easy solution is the right one, but I don't know if there is even a better solution at the moment.
After all that abuse that Horde get storywise, it is so nice to see Horde domination in endgame content. I guess someone can call this "balance"
Yeah, you're right, Horde being the most relevant faction storywise is a curse for them by killing important chars (most embarrasing kills would be Vol'jin and Cairne) while Alliance reacts all Horde's actions (genocides, Sylvanas and Saurfang depression). I would prefer Alliance get the same fate wth their chars as Horde. Better they do something than nothing, being irrelevant in the corner. Ahh also Alliance is the most boring faction (which as Alliance player I have to admit it), most of the our chars are bland and mary sues, that's why I prefer Greymane, Tyrande (it has her issues in BFA but still I like the fact she wants to do stuff) and Varian (I know he is dead) also our allied races are very boring but still ours have good racials (better than horde ones) which I can't complain with this.
Everyone should go Horde so the players can resolve the faction problem.
This a joke. Blizzard took years too long to react to the problem, and now it's beyond fixing. It's a damn shame we're feeling the snowball effect of the dev team in the early days all preferring the Horde, even after so many original developers are gone.
FFA world PvP? xD Have you considered what effect that would have on anyone sub-max-level and not actively chosing to PvP (Like anyone with sh*t gear and shi*t skills (like me)). We would be off Warmode forever, never learning to PvP, and Warmode would be severely barren of life compared to now.
This large disparity between Horde and Alliance populations doesn't just concern the raiding hall of fame list. It can be seen at every level and it is just going to get worse until something is done.
Meanwhile there are four guilds tied at 11/12 in the top brazilian raiding realm (Azralon).Overcoming has been dominating for years, but this time it's a really close race.https://www.wowprogress.com/pve/us/azralon/
ofc they will, i mean faction is nothing in modern wow, let me ask you one thing, if you are looking for a new guild, do you filter faction in wowprogress? the majority of the hardcore raiding community would say no, they filter raid days, thats about it.
They should have let the end of BFA be the end of the faction wars and allow for cross faction guilds / raids. It breaks open world PvP, but it's already broken at this point due to the imbalance. As the player base lowers, it just makes it more difficult to sustain two sides. That said, they could come up with more ideas so long as the ideas are keyed to the balance and auto change based on that balance. They could give the lesser side more loot per boss kill, so they progress faster. They could give the lesser side stronger loot (adjusted based on balance, not permanent) so they are stronger in all things.... like a determination buff. They could give the lesser side a buff to how much gold they get playing (but this might make players try and funnel gold across) so it might not work.I'm not saying any of these are good and don't want to debate them. I am just saying that Blizzard could and should have done something much sooner now.Personally, I just want them to take down the walls and end the faction wars, make all BG random everything (both sides). Open world PvP could be random sides when you enter the zone to keep sides balanced.
Let's be honest here, blizzard ignored this major problem until it was faaar too late. This game might as well be renamed world of hordecraft cus alliance is dead.
All they had to do was enable cross faction for guilds, groups and interaction in any instanced content and outside of warmode. With Warmode Enabled, the game would play as it always has with faction PVP.Continue developing and writing your story with Alliance vs Horde if you wish. And the player plays the faction they chose. Even though that I personally think forcing faction conflict at this point is the most stupid thing ever, this opinion comes from a heavy lore player. If I had to guess, they more than likely dont have the tech or time to test this and decided to waste time and developers into revamping a leveling system and making it one of the three pillars showcased in the "feature" trailer of Shadowlands. And yes "feature" because a new leveling experience is in no possible way worth of that level of spotlight. But no, faction war is part of what makes Warcraft, Warcraft. Good meme.Number wise, there is still a considerable amount of players on Alliance but they are all casuals. So they dont care. This could be wrong but developers more than likely dont have to experience this drought on Alliance, they either play with their own groups, play on Horde or simply dont (actually) play the game at all in an environment that requires dedicated players. What can be expected from developers who refused to give players Account Bound essences, instead given at the end of the expansion when it matters not, regardless of the overwhelming feedback?Point being, when they fail so hard continuously as they have with BfA, its hard to trust them to make good decisions at this point. They can always write the story butchering whatever they have to in the way to make it work, even though that BfA would had been an ideal fit with the end of the war and players joining forces yet again against a great annihilation force.
