People are going to sign up for this so they have the fancy icon and then either just ignore or give out bad advice. I guess at least requiring level 60 means the boost sellers can't use it, they're not gonna buy a level 50 boost and then level to 60 each time their account gets flagged. I suppose the theory is there would be numerous Guides on at the same time so someone asks a Mage question a Mage player can answer, they're not expecting everyone to know everything.I'm curious how one gains access to the Newcomer Chat channel to ask questions to begin with. Is it just players with new accounts? I've played for years but what if I've never touched a Druid, am I supposed to just know about how mastery works or about external sites like Wowhead and Icyveins by now? Actually, if it's new accounts what's stopping the boosters going there to spam? I wonder if there are any requirements for access to it.
wow this is very good!
So in the essence, I can have a "special icon" for directing people to wowhead?
My cousin just started the game and meets the criteria. He knows jack sh*t about the game.
To the new players that somehow reading this comment (or people that want to get more informed)I recommend visiting the Class Discord channels, and do not trust in-game players. To this day i still have to deal with people that uses AMR and Noxxic in-game and tells people to uses them.Visit Class Discord channels, but do keep in mind, a few of them are quite... "edgy". But don't let that scares you, even the most edgiest class discord (Demon Hunter discord, yeah i am calling you guys out). Reign their edginess if it goes too far, and with the recent event of Byron "Reckful" death, they started to take harassment quite seriously.Go in to those discord, looks at the pin, resources channel, ask question in questions channels. This will not end well.
I think for a system like this they need stricter requirements. Maybe require a minimum amount of achievement points and/or game-time.
I always liked answering questions i know the answer for.
This is a really awesome idea, it’ll be a great way for people to make friends and find others to play with. I agree with everyone that they do need more restrictions though. They really should just throw down a poll or something, see what people think.Maybe it can be tied to number of achievement points (?)
Awsome. So hyped for this one. But i wish i knew what does "Be in a good standing" means.
I was expecting Loremaster achievement to be a requirement too.
Cheap labour.but still a good idea for new players
People saying this is a great move clearly haven't played FFXIV. This is potentially a big eek, where people will use it just for status.
I got chat banned multiple times because Im offering arena coachings and people like to spam report me, do you guys think I will be authorized to be a guide even the fact I got chat banned very often?
Would this be acceptable to put on a CV along with full time daddy and facebook group admin? ^^ I got banned years ago (end wrath IIR) for naming a toon "Jebus". It was a 3 day ban. Noticed more recently someone being allowed this name on the MDI or Arena live on the Warcraft official channel competing. I can only assume this name is now allowed or the ban was not justified as i said at the time on appeal (what i lost). Maybe any marker could be removed... Yes i'm still salty....
I'm all for this system, if its something you can toggle on and off. For example, if I have an hour and I'm just standing in "insert name of current capital city" then I'd be happy to answer questions, give directions, let folks hitch a ride on a 2 person mount if they're missing a flight point etc. But if I'm heading into M+ or about to raid and being spammed with whispers, I'd feel bad for telling people, "can't help right now." It would absolutely work if I could toggle it off, when I'm busy with other things.
