So if Garrosh took the heart to orgrimmar with him, does that mean that pandaria is rid of the sha?
Before BfA was announced, I was sure next expansion was gonna be about N'zoth and/or the void. Might be next one, or we'll get some glimpses in a later patch. Also looking forward to find out what danger it is that lurks in the shadowlands.
So closer to the endgame.
A fascinating read!
We havent killed any of them (except the Mists one as it was jus the heart and nto atatched to planet) so they are all still possible ot return.also doubt rag will come back...i mean the fire lands already have a new leader (iirc was durign a shaman artifact chain)
It's mentioned a couple of times that N'zoth enjoyes corrupting the noble ones. And one of the "noblest" characters that come to mind is Anduin.Il'gynoth : "The boy-king serves at the master's table."Could it be that N'zoth will also corrupt Anduin?
The author mentions the "Demise of Azshara" at 8.2 . I am pretty sure we read somewhere or was said at Blizzcon she will not die in her palace, but will escape.
Also, why did the Klaxxi fight against their empress who was controlled by the Sha of Fear while they revere Y'Shaarj?
Once again, another awesome writing Perc. But I was wondering about return of Y'shaarj. I though his last remnant was dissolved after we've defeated Garrosh. I mean that heart was the only remaining of him since Aman'thul plucked him out (and probably throwed away in the cosmos?) and the heart fall far away in the south (In Pandaria). If that heart was his last remnant then how he'll come back? He don't even have a dead body like other two.
“and that their twisty re-interpretation of Ragnaros as a lightsworn apply”?
After reading this, I can't help but think about whether or not sylvanas will end up resurrecting y'shaarj in her desperation to defeat the alliance
TL;DR Illidan goes legit evil, more Old Gods, Murozond is corrupted by Sargeras, what if Syl’s valkyr are actually serving N’Zoth——————-He wasn’t actually imprisoned in the ocean. His prison just happened to be on one of the portions of Mega-Kalimdor that sunk beneath the waves.“Noble and Pure” sounds a lot like Anduin to me. Hoping he becomes the final raid boss of a Siege of Stormwind. Would trigger so many Alli and would rid us of another boring Mary Sue.Y’shaarj is dead. Fully dead. His last true portion was his Heart, which we destroyed. The sha are all that are left of him, and their numbers can never be replenished. The quest dialog literally states that the Mantid are swarming because they have a new Empress who is ambitious and wants Azerite. Nothing to do with Y’shaarj. If he does come back, Blizz is doing a lazy retcon.Personally, I always thought it was odd that the rebel Mantid even existed in the first place. Their trees and Empress get infused with Sha power, a remnant of Y’shaarj, and they thought this was a bad thing? It makes no sense. Maybe there are good Mantid, like the good Nerubians we help in Northrend? Ones that aren’t slavishly devoted to the Old Gods. The Crooked Serpent sounds like an Old God who is approaching Azeroth. None of that really sounds like N’Zoth to me. “An emerald sun dawns in the vault of the heavens, but it casts no shadow” sounds like what Blizz alluded to before about how we should keep an eye on the red star in the skybox in case it ever vanishes, which will portend trouble. The vault is the Seat of the Titans where we fought Xal’atath, which is basically untouchable by the Old Gods or anyone else until Magni helps us access it. Xal’atath notes how it is momentous that the presence of the Old Gods has made its way into the Seat. Perhaps a seed of corruption was left? The emerald sun sounds like Sargeras, Illidan, or some kind of combination of the Titans, etc. becomes convinced that Azeroth cannot be saved and relaunches the Burning Crusade. It casts no shadow because it does not derive from the Light (which always casts shadow), but rather is the Legion and fel (the Legion does use Shadow magic when we fight them, but this could be forsaken in a resurgent Crusade that sees it as helping the Old Gods or corrupting them, etc.). “It has no eyes to see” sounds to me like Illidan; perhaps with the aid of the Old Gods, Sargeras corrupts or controls Illidan in some way to lead the resumption of the Crusade?Or... “dreams of infinite endings and beginnings” could be Murozond, corrupted by Sargeras. With Aman’thul controlled or some such thing, Nozdormu could be transformed from the Keeper of Time to the Corruptor of Time, perhaps seeking to damage the timeways or change them so that the Old God threat can be eliminated. During this whole time, the Old Gods are actually manipulating Sargeras et al. through their access to the Seat, and this is how we wind up with Murozond in End Time, servant of the Old Gods.Raggy is dead. I mean, like even more definitively dead than Y’shaarj. We went to his own plane and killed him, which everyone says did the deed and the elementals there have to find a new leader. Though knowing Blizz, retcon bull%^&* incoming. One major thing you left out is that there is likely another Old God. There is a grand illustration in one of the Chronicle books which features the Old Gods and their elements/servants, but which has an extra Old God in the upper-right border (as I recall), which has bat wings and is surrounded by vines, leaves, and skulls. Either this might be the Crooked Serpent, or we’re missing something big.Something I haven’t seen forwarded: what if one of Sylvanas’ Valkyr is actually a servant of N’Zoth and has been corrupting and manipulating her since her return from second death? We’ve already seen how one could disguise itself in the Thorim fight. And beyond that, they needed a new master after Arthas fell and they gained autonomy. The valkyr are basically the only beings aside from Nathanos that Sylvanas actually trusts. It leaves her wide open to being subtly used by N’Zoth, leading to her current state as Garrosh 2.0.
Amazing read! Thanks for the article.
Im my opinion the "black goat" can only reffer to Y'shaarj, because he is the only old god that can be "watching from the outside" since he died on this world (maybe the essence of an old god can reborn in another place like demons did), and the goat horn is a strong hint..
I had to read it all and it was worth it! amazing article it all make sense from all the information we have
Fantastic speculation. I imagined as much. A fun read, thanks!
