Flying is more fun than most of the current content...
How ironic that people who aren't willing to play any outdoor content want a shortcut for outdoor content. Like, the people who need flying the least are the ones who cry the most.If you're not willing to invest some time in a genre that literally requires you to invest your time to get results, then MMOs aren't for you. It's that god damn simple. And believing BS such as flying is the problem of the late expansions is what turns WoW worse and worse, thanks to Blizzard answering the worst and most trivial feedback, and core problems being outright ignored because loud kids can't live without the small trivial things and demand they be given attention.
As many of us know Blizzard tried to leave out flying in Warlords as a precursor to the possibility of removing flying from the game. Once this "news " became common knowledge there was a huge player backlash against Blizzard, which is when Blizzard realized they would never be able to remove flying from the game without losing a massive amount of players. Blizzard did not like the fact that many players would speed through a new expansion to hit level cap so they could purchase the relevant flying skill and zip around on their flying mounts. So Blizzard came up with the Pathfinder as a compromise to ensure players could not simply speed level, purchase flying and then fly over everything. Instead players have to "earn" flying while they explore, quest and generally take the time to actually appreciate all the work Blizzard have put into creating all that new content. Now, while I do understand Blizzard's reason for creating the Pathfinder system as a compromise to "earning" flying (and so they didn't face a mass exodus of players), they seem to be making each Pathfinder a little harder than the previous. I really don't see any reason in making the Pathfinder harder to complete. Not everyone likes doing World Quests, but if you want flying then you have to complete 100 different World Quests even if you may not like them! Sorry, but that's not really "fun" for such players now is it? Draenor Pathfinder was so easy to complete as you explored and quested in general, but both Legion and BfA Pathfinders dropped the Treasure Hunter part and added that "Complete 100 different World Quests" instead. But hey, nothing quite like consistently annoying your players to the point that they quit the game now is there Blizzard? As for all those players who hate or dislike flying there's no reason for you to start complaining about the evils of flying because the solution for you is to simply not purchase any flying skills, that way you can stay on the ground forever!
Summary of comments: Obligatory complaint about having to earn flying.Obligatory retort defending the value of having to earn flying.occasional useful explanation as to why game designers want players to play from the ground of a new land they spend millions designing.
can someone explain to me this:when it comes to some unimportant things, like new mount (which we already have hundreds of) people #$%^& about it being available to buy and NOT LOCKED behind some content, becouse they would rather earn it than buy itbut when it comes for something actualy important, likey flying, people &*!@# that it IS LOCKED behind content and not beign available on vendor...so what the hell you people want?
Well , Blizzard chose to catter to casuals. You reap what you sow.Casuals always come up with the "well , my money ......" which is a very poor and lazy argument. This is a game where you pay to have content to consume that they create.Cataclysm "instant" flight ruined the WPVP and it had a massive backlash against it to completely dismiss it and act as if a majority of playerbase did not complain about it just shows how little you know about it and you argue just to hide the fact that you want everything handed to you.In which case ,if you are that kind of player......go play on instant max level private WoW servers and leave , please. The hypocrisy of the casual players is that they complain about everything that is not handed to them but when they are handed to them they complain that it is boring. They are also the ones that call you an "elitist" if you require them to know their class and do BASIC things like intrerrupting or do simple and easy tasks as focusing a target during an encounter and if they do it and fail they either make up excuses and blame Blizzard or they dont do it at all.To sum up all I've said up untill this sentence: "I want it red but not really red , a kind of bluish red but not purple or mov either".That being said I dont like Blizzards design , lately ( past 3 expansions ).I understand they ran out of story(to follow , WoTLK was the last time they had everything handed to them by the story already existing) to create and design on and they have to create the story as they also create the content but the story doesnt feel like it was written by actual writters. It feels like it was written by me if I were obsessed with Jaina and hate Sylvanas (Spoilers: I dont care about either ).I suspect BFA was launched in a poor state because they had to meet the requirements of the investors.Their staff is way smaller than in Legion (remember , they sent alot of developers to create mobile games) but if they launched BFA in november I bet BFA would have been far better content wise and these huge gaps between patches would have been smaller.Story wise would have still sucked , thou'.
The only real benefit of Pathfinder (imo) is that your alts can fly as soon as they reach the new continent. I don't care about "earning" flying. I earned it when I ground out first 1k then 5k gold in a time when those were massive amounts of money and rep discounts didn't exist for riding training.Personally, I'd prefer if either the full Pathfinder was available at launch (first patch at latest) or if you just paid a fee at/near max level like Wrath and MoP.
You need to earn things in the game, flying is one of those rewards, I do not see any issue with it so long they do not force PVP!
And here we go again. Rep grinding for flying. Blizzard run out of ideas. Why it has to be this way again? Why not including a questchain or something like this or simple unlock it with the release of the patch?
I like the concept of unlocking flying as it is, I would meet the requirements anyways. Not to forget, this is account-wide.I only dislike that I have to wait so long. Why keep us on the ground for almost a year? What is the reason behind not unlocking flying with 8.1 already when everyone already has more than one char at level 120?
Seems pointless giving flying when you spent months having to schlep around on ground mount and flight points/boat etc. I wish it was a few days quests to unlock flying so you can explore quicker.
