Not that big of a deal, I'm ok with unlocking Flying. I'm going to do everything anyway. Getting Revered does not take that long anyway.
YAY MORE REP GRINDS!^ said no one ever
Frankly I had no issues with the Pathfinder system since it was a balanced way to make you explore the new worlds without spoiling it by having the chance to skip stuff just by flying between points. You unlocked it at a point where you have already explored the new lands and the new content wasn't harmed by flight (and if there was a risk of it being hurt by flying, they could just lock the ability to fly in those zones). I think that having flight unlocked since patch 8.1 would have helped diminish the tedium of logging in to farm reputation/WQ/gear (which seems to be the focus of the game since BfA's launch) but I'm grateful that at least we'll be able to fly not only at the first maps but also in the new ones (even if they went for the lazy way of having reputation locks instead of quest-line progression ones). Now let's hope that the new content makes the game more fun and that having a little help with the daily grinds will bring a little less complains to the game (yeah right XD)
Just a bit confused. Are we going to be able to fly in these new zones? Because legion didn't let us fly in Antorus. If not, why do we need the new reps?
I agree. I'd rather just pay some gold for it like in previous expansions. Want to keep it unlocked until two to three patches in? Sure, I understand. But after that, just let us pay a reasonable sum for it rather than forcing players to jump through hoops. I mean if you like grinding reputations etc, then fine, it's 'on the way', but for someone who would rather not grind reputations or be forced to do world quests (let alone 100 of them to unlock something), it's a painful grind.
While I do understand frustrations behind rep grinds (as I feel them as well), long, long gone are the days of WotLK, Cata, and even MoP where you just bought flying (and it got cheaper depending how rep exalted you were with Stormwind/Orgrimmar). Draenor introduced the rep grinds to unlock flying...period. It worked for those who were willing to do the work, and less so for those who weren't. Some people I've seen (even lately) still haven't opened up Draenor flying, which I found less intensive than Legion flying ( /remembers wanting to ban Nightborne rep to the Twisting Nether back then). Tortollen is a rep grind I currently scoff at and hate doing WQ's for, so I am hoping these other 2 reps don't make me feel that way too. Personally, I hate the puzzle quests (I don't like the Kirin Tor puzzle quests either). I have inscription and will totally do WQ's just to gain Tortollen rep via other quests, so thank the Inscription geniuses for that. My youngest son had a pet turtle once (like 25 years ago, but seems like yesterday sometimes), and if you didn't change that tank every other day, it STANK to the high heavens! So I do some of the Tortollen quests anyway so the water doesn't have time to sit and ferment with the waste, lol.
Thank you and well said I actually love the pathfinder system. Having a tons of alts makes buying flying on each character ( like in MoP) expensive and I would much rather earn something than just buy it with gold.
I love the pathfinder system. I'd have preferred to have flying by now, of course, but hey, doesn't look too bad to get it in 8.2, and it'll be easier spending a long time in the new continents with it.
brah they put flying locks in because if they allow flying off the bat half the experience of lvling during the expansion would be missed, did u even play classic wow? they was no flying till BC
Totally called Blizz holding a grudge against the Water Strider and finding a way to nerf it that they could argue was fair. Now I have to waste a slot on water-walking instead of being able to make use of anything else. Great job, guys.
Agree completely, this has been drawn out too long, only to be drawn out further by rep grinds we have been doing since the beginning of this expansion.
