Sigh. I really wish they'd move away from forcing you to juggle more mechanics inside of already mechanic dense dungeons. It's not fun, it's not difficult, it's not engaging. It's just another annoyance affix that can lead to terrible timings where you blow your utility on the affix just before you need it for some nasty mob mechanic. I guess that's the goal, burden players with "fun variety" aka wiping on a pack.
The affix itself is not bad, it's just the amount of those orbs - it should be 5 max, not 20, so in worst case scenario each party member has to take one.Kinda weird that they wanted to make this affix for "casuals", while it implies using stuff from higher runs.
This look so awful. So when you miss 5, the mobs get 100% more haste? And you're supposed to waste all your stops on these stupid orbs and not on the dungeon mobs? Just running through them should be enough.
So play Blood Elf.
To all of you saying roll Blood elf... you know Arcane torrent was changed arround 2012? and it no longer silences...
Blizzard: We want to shift the focus from affixes to the dungeon itself. We want to avoid players to interact with additional nameplates, or have to use their abilities for additional mechanics. Also Blizzard: Here we have added a new affix ignoring everything we said no 9 weeks ago!
This affix should be like The Raging Tempest orb mechanic in nokhud offensive and instead of 20 orbs, should be 5 or 10 so players would manage 1 or 2 orbs each. No nameplates, no visual clutter and no aoe stop.
I've done actual play testing of this new affix and like predicted it's absolutely terrible. Risk is way too high for failing (mobs literally delete whole group with this 200% haste buff they get, even on low keys such as +4) while rewards are too little (you only get 1/10 of buff, max 20% haste which is literally nothing). Affix also completely distracts you from everything that is happening in the dungeon itself forcing you to focus on the affix only and deal with it and miss baseline dungeon mechanics like important casts, frontals etc in the process, inevitably wiping whole group.
For all these complaints I really wonder if y’all would actually prefer the alternatives. Do we so quickly forget about Explosive? Bolstering? Incorporeal? Storming? Even if this was “catch some things falling from the sky” it would likely be even more dangerous anyway. Oops it spawned in a swirly good luck.Besides, we all know the healer is going to just be handling it anyway like in the vod, and we can all talent into plenty of easy stops/displacements/purges. It’ll be fine. Everybody chill out.
Sometimes, I think the dev departments are entirely disconnected. Every day, someone new comes in and starts from scratch. If they decide to roll out with this, I won't be playing this trash. I am tired of paying with money and time for something I do not enjoy.
