To each their own I guess.I still have routes saved in MDI from early in the seasons with "percentage", usually for the last pull before boss just as a reminder how much we need before that last pull. The question, as rightfully asked by many, however is WHY make these unnecessarily changes to begin with? 🤷♂️
Makes pretty much zero difference.People just memorize routes.
I hope this and the Nitro Boosts engineering item not being able to be applied to belts anymore are both bugs. I used that all through Dragonflight, and it's got a failure chance that can hurt you pretty badly so it's always been a fair risk. I really hope they're not being this anti-player.
Good. I like to see the min maxers cry.
I apologize for my English!I'll try to explain a little. Blizzard basically fixed the bug he had. The value of one mob has so far been determined by calling the C_ScenarioInfo.GetCriteriaInfo function after the "SCENARIO_CRITERIA_UPDATE" event, where the three values "quantity", "totalQuantity" and "description" are essential for us. For example, in "totalQuantity" the value is 738 (the total amount you have to get), in "quantity" there should be the current value that we got, for example 213, but instead there is a percentage value in whole numbers, for example 23, which represents 23%. And the real value of "quantity" Blizzard has so far transmitted in "description" where the text "Enemy forces:" is now. It is @#$%^&ed to transfer percentages in the "quantity" value instead of the real value, even my 7-year-old daughter can calculate them (quantity/totalQuantity)*100.It would be ideal if "quantity" was really "quantity", and if blizzard needs a percentage value, let the function also return "percentage". We can probably only dream about something like GetUnitEnemyForce(npcID). Blizzard have correct Enemy forces values and create any similar function is about 5 minutes.
I'm not maining tank, but I did a good few dungeons as tank with one of my alts, up to +15 this season, 22+ in the previous ones, and I always used MDT. I dont see the problem to not seeing the numbers, I already know where to go and what to kill to get the %. Maybe it's 1% over because its not always possible to get 100% on the dot. So what?Is MDT not a thing anymore?I noticed less and less people sharing routes in runs, but I still use my own when I tank just to ensure that I get the % right. So what's the deal with the extra numbers that are now gone? None of the explanations throughout 5 pages of comments have made the case, if anything, they made it feel more complicated and like I need to do math while playing. If I have to choose between constantly looking at an addon to tell me how much I have left vs looking at an addon before the dungeon starts and I have the route set up, I'll choose the latter.Preparation vs adaptation - works wonders with PUGS where comms are not that good everytime. Maybe it's just EU and NA is different, maybe it's Maybelline.
Ya know, on the one hand I love my addons. On the other hand, there are WAY too many addons. I'm all for Blizzard removing the need for them, but not in this way. Implement them into the base game. Make it obvious to people without having to install an addon.
L change.
I've been watching % since BFA when I started running keys. I didn't even know that "count" was an option until they got rid of it.
so more broken things then fixed things .great .
bruh
This is the 3rd time now I've felt the need to leave a comment complaining about changes with the upcoming expansion. Not a good change Blizzard. I know you read these and look at the engagement. Get your act together. Don't remove utility froms players.
Granted my usual group doesn't do that high a key, most we've done are a few 6s, but I don't think many of us use a %tracker or even MDT. We try to remember on hwhat mob gives hwhich. Yes I do have other addons to track other class utilities, such as Blackout Kick stacks, as it no longer glows to say it has 4. But hwhen it comes to % in this case, meh.Come TWW, I don't want to go in to a +2 knowing hwhat mob gives hwhat %. Granted we can all disable *that* addon/WA.Some humans get their fins in a twist, or hwhatever your extremities are called.
Does it really matter? I have keystone hero every season and all the portals and knowing the exact 0.5% of each trash mob has never been needed or desired by myself.Edit, and I’m the tank doing the routes for my guild runs
Why, though? It's not like this gave some unfair advantage. If you go full meta then there will be still the optimal route to follow anyhow (they then just have to trial and error it with full percentages). But knowing the curent mob % fractures helped telling us when we deviated from the route because we skipped some pat or whatever if we needed to pull that big group or if the single roamer would be enough. So while I don't consider this a big issue, I also don't get it why they bothered with it in the first place.
