Blizzard you earned heaven.
Isnt it really late for some of these changes. Sure they are welcome, but why cant these QoL changes be pushed forward out of 9.1.5. There are no catch up mechanics for soul cinders, stygian embers, codex rep. 9.1.5 is rumored to come out in November but people need these things now. As a player who recently resubbed again, it's soul crushing to be so far behind at the moment.
Just make the rep accountwide? Would save so much dev time (class/talents/leg/conduit tuning?) and stop wasting players time
The account-wide unlocking of rank 5 and 6 armor upgrades from Korthia should have been account wide unlocks to begin with. It isn't like you could just spam upgrades on alts as you still need to grind out the currency to upgrade items to maximum level anyway..
How useless at this point. Why can't they do this crap to begin with?
Cant wait for these pointless 2 months away catch ups...
Even with these changes passive gains for this rep are awful. Korthia dailies should always award epic relics in addition to usual rewards.
I didn't like the design of this rep. Reminds me of the Noble Garden egg hunting (a cute holiday distraction rather than a full fledged patch feature.) where I sat and camped the same set of egg spawns for a few hours till I had all I needed... but Archivist took this gameplay and extended it for weeks. . . No idea what the intended way to engage with Korthia was but I just went out there and camped the same rares and treasure node spawns to earn as much rep as I could per day for over a month. Neither the killing of the rares or collecting of the treasure nodes was particularly fun( I didn't expect it to be anything amazing either and don't really have a problem with the activities themselves. They are fine for what they are. ) but the whole rep consists of just looting the same nodes, killing the same rares, and an occasional daily quest with a rep reward for weeks with a daily limit for a random amount of rep. For Thralls sake that was frustrating to do the same activities as the day before but come up ~200 rep short. The grind spanning longer length of time with more repeats, the less of the total rep sources per day you tick the box for. My alts, which I engage Korthia with far less are (to my surprise) sitting mid t4 at this point. I log in to them and run the zone once a week for the weekly renown quest. Progress is way too slow like this (getting to t6 will probably take my alts over 8 months) but way more enjoyable than my experience getting to t6 on my main at a reasonable rate. This is the opposite of what reps should aim to be. I have a better experience ignoring the rep and pretending it doesn't exist than I had when I attempted to engage with it. idk maybe just me but I didn't like the design of this rep. It was obviously over repetitive and didn't feel satisfying to progress. I didn't really care about any of the rewards aside from the Sockets and Conduits on my main so no level aside from t6 even had any payoff.
Cant help myself... but seeing such amount of changes that will basicaly make game playable for alts... I cant shake off the feeling that last months from 9.1 release I have been paying for beta testing access... those idiots used our love and passion for the game to make us pay monthly for unfinished and untested faulty product... grinding %^&* for weeks in chore-tia and now when they are in hyper-deep %^&* as company hemmoraging players even more than before they throw us this juicy bone...
the whole concept of boosting rep by 50% is stupid when the amount of rep that drops between different characters is so disparate. I will regularly run days where I'll get 300-500 rep total. That's all dailies, rift, and rares. Guildies doing the same will regularly hit double that. All that you get by increasing rep by 50% is an even bigger disparity. What they need to do is even out the randomness on the rep drops.
Why everytime when content is released it's useless to do it, coz in next patch everything will be 1000% easier?First Blizzard releases chores, then makes it easier and everyone is happy about it...
This angers me as I completed my grind a few days ago after two months. I didn't log in to do Korthia every day but I did some of it most days, patiently working towards rank 6. It took way, way too long. Now, after I have finished the grind, they are going to make it easier? They should, but these things should have been hotfixed in months ago or better year, the Korthia grind should have been designed better. Factor in the Korthia grind is in service of a borrowed power system and that what we are grinding, conduits, will be useless to us in a few months when Zereth Mortis launches (with another catch up) and pointless when 10.0 comes in, and it makes me wonder what I was doing? It was empty busy work and a perfect example of the rot that has infested world of warcraft's design.
is an mmo, you need to grind otherwise it will be not an mmo anymore
All this is fine and dandy but the scaling of relics you receive is a joke and appears to still be. Example, if you kill one of the bigger rares, like portal boss or rift boss right when you enter Korithia, before you loot any chests or kill other rares, you get 90-115+ relics, BUT if you kill most of the rares and collect your treasures, then kill said boss, you get MAYBE 20 relics, the Relic Efficiency item is a joke, period.
Too little, too late.
Which part of the "If it's not fun on your main why would I ever do it on an alt too" they didn't get yet?
