Why not include people's faith in that list!
I have reservations about this, but the devil’s in the details. We’ll have to see if and how this actually gets implemented.
They said "like" so they listed "race, gender, or ability" as examples. I'm sure it includes religion too.
As someone who regularly reads over legally enforceable contracts for a living, I see only one mistake. The contract states that the guidelines and rules are for Azeroth. What about The Shadowlands and other zones/expansions? I know its minor, but I would think Blizz would clarify that to mean the World Of Warcraft, not just Azeroth.
To be honest, I see no issue with this as implementation is a few minutes in theory. However, I am curious to see how much this would be enforced
At least they're finally saying publicly that they changed the rules. I caught a ban because I didn't realize this went into affect last December. They stopped doing the mute system and now do bans, good of them to finally say that instead of baiting a bunch of people into bans first.
I just hoppes this get enforced on latam, our chat is pretty nasty.
I don't think this will actually stop those that are hateful, but at least it gives them a bit more cause to enforce rules. Hope they do.
I'll just hit accept and go back to being myself. :^)
Inb4 someone replies here or later on forums that their country exempts them from having to abide by this or w/e.
This is dumb. Just update the TOS. Yes, wowhead loves to lock threads. Will definitely lock this one since most will probably agree it’s dumb.
I feel attacked. Not about the be nice and respectful part or the respect diversity parts. That's good stuff. But, about the "Connect with other players and make friends!" part. Should be a conditional. If you must interact, do so well and in a way that is friendly.
I can't wait to see people more bothered by this than the actual circumstances that lead to its creation. Dunno what this is actually going to do though outside of, for lack of a better term, virtue signal. Didn't we technically all agree to this sort of thing when making our Battle.Net accounts?I guess it is harmless overall, but it is kinda... cringe.
Cringe.
