I kind of expected that they would drop the covenant restrictions on cosmetics after the end of the xpac when the covenants no longer mattered for current content. To have it happen mid xpac is very surprising.
I have been wanting this for a long long time :)
The lifting of mog restrictions is very welcomed.
Speaking of covenants they should repair Mastercraft Gravewing to show on mount list
This is so fun. I want sometimes to wear Venthyr gear without being a Venthyr on my mage.
I've read through the notes from Blizz but am still not sure exactly what they mean. Is it really the case that any Covenant mog or mount earned on any alt will become available to any other alt (of same armour type) once one char reaches Renown X? Because it could also be read to mean that each char has to earn the gear or mount themselves. For example, say I want my Necrolord mage mogged with the Venthyr mirror tmog set I earned on my priest. Can I mog it as soon as one of my chars hits the Renown unlock level? Or will my mage need to change to Venthyr, collect all the mogs then change back to Necrolord? If it's the second option, then that's not going to cut it for me.
Whhhhhhaaaaat. This is amazing!
this is the one change I didn't ask. aesthetics should have remained covenant specific and player power should have been detached from covenant system.
aesthetics, cosmetics, customization, heritage armor, etc, should be in accordance who who you are and who you've aligned with, not just to keep things meaningful and create a sense of pride and belonging to the group you've devoted yourself with, but so others can see you and know a bit more about who you are and where you come from. Heritage armor wouldn't make sense or be appropriate if it could be worn by races who are not part of your culture, and it removes any sort of meaning or importance. I don't think a lot of people have been asking for this, and those who have don't seem to care about the importance about representing who you've aligned yourself with is for those who enjoy the fantasy and immersion of.Those who don't care about keeping some aspects of the game aligned to specific considerations that reflect identity, are getting their way, the expense of that is unfortunate and terrifying, it's at the expense of a greater good which is to have certain things race, culture, alignment specific for reasons such as lore, meaning, identification, identity, and more, that keep the game and intent from becoming meaningless and forgettable. if weapons and heritage armor, etc, can be worn by anyone, and go so far as people requesting and getting race-themed cosmetics and customization on other races, then what's the point in creating an attachment to a toon or having pride in your choices? Everyone being everything is empty. this may bring a few people back but as those people grow older and want meaning for their toons and and the world we play in , they'll leave as the decisions being made here only add to the meaningless of it all. Like those who've left because of the writing or story, it's not because they don't like it, it's because it doesn't matter to us or the characters or the world, it's all too grand and too much and therefore unrelatable and nothing matters. Meaningful is important and special, therefore, all the removals of such meaningful and special regards, makes just about everything unimportant and kind of cheap, which equals walking away. The people who wanted these changes should be asked just as those who prefer meaningful choices have their preference, why they want the game to have no considerations. And I ask why they get their way when many really get more out of wow when options are race, culture, group, etc, aligned and therefore hold a greater sense or purpose and meaning.
I have been waiting for this day! Hence why when planning what covenant to put my alts in, I especially focused on having at least one of every armor type in each covenant. Now to level up the resot of them!
Nah, i didnt like it. Instead, I would prefer unlock all xmog covenants at once. Its a pain to farm on my pally kyrian and need to do everything again in may monk/kyrian or priest/kyrian do buy the things ¬¬
