I'm surprised that over half the restoration shaman players are picking necrolords. When I was playing through the campaign and tried out each covenant ability, primordial wave felt underwhelming. The other shaman covenant abilities are more straightforward AoE options with night fae and venthyr being my favorites (I ultimately went with venthyr).I can see the benefit of having an extra shield, but considering you have to channel it, it's too time-consuming, and it requires some dead enemies nearby for optimal usage. Meanwhile I'm having a blast with my venthyr teleport ability while exploring the zones.I guess if you can spread dots alot it might be interesting (since it deals damage/heals if there is flame shock or riptide on another target), but even then, this isn't affliction warlock. Shaman is all about more direct abilities, AoE or not, and the other covenants support that much better.
I am a Venthyr worgen shadow priest. I picked them for aestetical reasons, even if the class ability is not that good in pve. But Door of Shadows is extremely useful at hunting tiny stuff in the world in obscure places. And trying to reach them without needing to do a complicated jumping puzzle, one fail and back to the beginning. And werewolves and vampires goes well together. You feel like you fit in well with the worgen heritage armor in this gothic zone.I am pretty sure why Necrolords is one of the least picked covenants. Fleshcrafting. That useless shied is horrid to cast with 4s casting time. Doesnt stack up at all compared to the others. Plus the zone is terrible in my oppinion.Kyrian.. Well the priest ability is pretty bad for a shadow priest. But Stewards are cute and got useful abilities. Personally not a fan of bastion either. A very samey landscape everywhere, and populated with the armies of the blue clones vs purple clones.Night Fae, the other impressive and much better zone. Not a fan of the priest class ability tho, and soulshape got a far too long cd.
prot paladins still going kyrian for divine toll is just an utterly myopic choice. general draven is just too good of a tanking soulbind to be passing up. there is a reason why rextroy and others went venthyr.
Correlation is not causation and all that. I chose my main's Covenant on the basis of i) mog and ii) zone music.
My feral kitty went night fae too, the ability is just too satisfying, feels sad 24% of the ferals are missing that amazing skill.
Don´t care...My proud goblin dark ranger using undead powa from necrolords is the best!
That are the characters at the max level with the latest expansion. Paid for the subs and shadowlands. It is a pretty impressive numbers for a “dead” game.
For my main I went Necrolord Shaman. I have settled into Ele/Resto for this xpac . I prefer to heal in group content, but in the last few years my WoW time is mostly solo/outside content, so I spend the majority of my time in a DPS spec.I picked Necrolord largely for everything except the active abilities. When appraising covenants I contemplated a whole range of qualities like: active abilities, themes/aesthetics , unique feature , soulbind potential for my two specs. Necrolord came out ahead for me on everything except active abilities and even then it was only in second place, Venthyr was my favorite for active abilities but came in second or lower in most other categories.Admittedly I am awful at making use of the shield, when I unlock the Soulbind trees further it'll become more useful though; once I'm feeling less locked to taking specific paths simply to access the only potency conduit slot option available right now. I'm eyeing routes to make it more of a in-combat defensive CD, rather than right now when it's most useful right after/before a fight.
Considering that this site siad that I was realms 3'rd level 60, im pretty sure its busted out of ten. I know for sure that at least 50 people in my guild was before me, and I also know I took forever to reach 60.So I can only make the assumption that this site only works on data requested by users for characters. Since there seemly seem to be missing 99.9% of all players on my realm etc.
So i picked the right covenants FOR ME for my charakters! I don't care about the numbers! :DMy lvl60 main is a Necrolords BM... and i played 3 other charakters through the Maw scenario to choose the Threads of Fate leveling and picked my covenants with them... a Necrolords Arms Warrior, a Necrolords Affliction Warlock and a Night Fae Feral Druid! xD3 Necrolords? Yes! The first parts of the stories of the other zones are so boring. Blue smurf boyscouts whining about everything, the typical Blizzard 'safe the forest'-cheese in a blue glowing Val'sharah and an annoying to travel vampire castle with the typical Blizzard rebellion story! Nothing special, nothing new. The zones look amazing, but the stories are meeeh! Already unsubbed and come back later when the renown timegating is at a point i can play the story in one go!
