Actually the listed HC guilds say killing Sludgefist isn't a big deal but clearing previous bosses 5-6 times is just more optimal for the splits.
It does feel pretty rough for the first raid tier of a new expansion.
A lot of guilds doing splits are doing 7 bosses, then waiting for optimal comps for the higher up gear over the next few days. Sludgefist was fine. And tbh. im glad the raid is tuned a bit harder this time around. Its actually fun.
thats fine lol, more challenging, no more rolling over HC raid.
Good! If they tuned it to easy, like most of the times, the critics will call Shadowlands a flop and that would be sad. Besides most issues is gear related anyway, so I hope the ''I pay for game so I no lift finger but want best gear'' crying noobs will stay silent for once..
This sounds like good news.
There will for sure be nerfs to heroic/normal. They are far too overtuned for the guilds they are meant for.
Unpopular opinion: I enjoy really-really hard raids more than ones that get face rolled. Later on in the patch, it'll be more of a challenge to get the gear you want rather than making the raid seem like a weekly quest that you have to do each week that takes minimal effort but a lot of time.
Looks like the DoT from Sinseeker has already been nerfed by ~60%, according to live dungeon journal (NA servers, 09DEC2020 @ 1PM PT).
Horrible news...
Its almost like ilvl and having enough stamina maters.People need to realize how important overall ilvl is to survive encounters. Sounds like the devs are reminding people of this.
I know we're all undergeared right now which makes the fights harder, but I do sense some nerfs coming. Gearing is just A LOT slower in SL (which is good IMO) so if they keep difficulty like this, it could take people many weeks to even have the gear required to pass some of the damage checks.
Im looking in the encounter journal and it appears they fixed huntsman since yesterday. People were saying it was doing 8k a tick on normal, and now the journal says like 3k.
huntsman normal is bugged for us. did the other wing first, including blood council but the door for huntsman doesnt open. draven just dont move
I love this ! i'm not a mythic raider at all but 90% i got my curve achievements and now sweating in a normal raid is actually really satisfiying... You finally need to work for you gear even its only in Normal ! :) can't wait to watch those top guilds competing in mythic for WF!Thanks blizz ! we finally know why we playing the game for other than endlessly farming freaking azerite !
I think the thing that is making the raid seem hard is gear, at least it was for our raid last night. We walked into normal with a raid ilvl of ~ 170 and only managed to get the first boss down in our 2 hours (our regularly allotted time). Ideally we would have been around 185.It seems much more difficult to gear up for the initial raid in SL than BfA. Overall there is less loot available and more to do once you hit max level compared to BfA. In BfA it was just: hit max level -> gear for raid. Now in SL it's hit max level -> choose covenant -> progress covenant campaign to unlock Tor'ghast -> run Tor'ghast to get soul ash -> farm conduits - > progress covenant campaign more to progress soulbind tree -> oh, and also do Maw dailies, callings, and somehow find a way to run Mythics to gear for the raid. I'm sure the hardcore players have had no issues, but us mortals who can only play maybe a couple hours per night it felt like a lot was dumped on you all at once. Eventually I'll get things under control, but for now things are bit overwhelming.
No more roflstomping through heroic is definitely a good thing imo
The 3 sinseeker per raid irrelevant of size hurt when we had 10 people. Nerf should make it possible but it does appear to be another mechanic that they did not think about variable raid size.
I got into a new guild and it's difficult to say if it's just a bad guild or if things are just harder to kill with how undergeared people are, barely have any legendaries as some are waiting for BiS or higher ilvl, different soulbind progression etc. The delay and lags on the Draenor realm weren't helpful either as a tank dying was a guaranteed wipe, since it took them at least half a minute to accept CR.
