Just kill Malfurion already
Awe... darn. I thought Malfurion was gonna die.In all seriousness though, this is still a pretty insane turn of events! Super excited for BfA!
Someone one want to post a short version. This is long on a phone and with little time.
I'm just glad even other horde are realizing sylvanas only serves sylvanas and forsaken. she doesn't deserve control of horde. I suspect by end of BfA someone else is gonna take over who cares about the horde, not just the forsaken and conquering the living for the dead.
Malfurion says: I will take my place with the warriors of old... Sounds like a dying quote. But i always imagined he dying calling for Tyrande or something
I can't say I'm super thrilled about all this. It honestly just feels like Garrosh 2.0, and I am honestly so very tired of the Horde being the instigators in everything. Blizz always says that no one side is "evil", yet things like this only seems be happening on the Horde's end. When I started playing the Horde I joined was a merry band of dysfunctional misfits that banded together, and it was that chaotic dynamic I fell in love with. I have no problem with some moral grey area, that can be interesting anf fun and create interesting discussions, but this does not read like moral grey area. It's bumming me out seeing such a carbon copy of Garrosh's power grab, and I'm really not looking forward to playing this scenario as a Horde.
i see Blizzard is taking inspiration from history"we don't need to defend that side, surely no one would think of going OVER the mountains""omg they went over the mountains"
Goddamn orcs and their honor. Christ, just kill Malfurion. His character stopped being interesting ages ago.Sylvanas always was a master tactician, so a feint and then a surgical strike makes sense for her character. It seems her plan was to knock out the NEs before reinforcements could arrive, kill Malfurion and Tyrande, and then watch as the Alliance implodes due to Anduin’s weak leadership and incompetence. Not a bad strategy. The member-states of the Alliance wouldn’t be butchered wholesale. They would just abandon the Alliance and leave the Horde to dominate Azeroth. Similar to when the USSR fell apart.
Why would a Horde character ever not slay Malfurion?
All in all, I don't think I'm crazy about the lore of this expansion up to this point. Maybe that will change as it all plays out but I don't see anything to make me feel that way so far. I'm sure others will love it, but I don't think I'm going to be one of them.
"The Horde considers their attack on Teldrassil to not be a total success, since the Alliance is strong enough to retaliate. The Battle was meant to wipe the Alliance out, preventing a war before it started."what is this, pearl harbor? Why the hell would attacking a isolated capital thats on the other side of the planet as the heart of the alliance prevent the alliance from being able to counter attack? NE's only makes up a fraction of the alliance forces.
How mad are people going to be when all this broadcast text turns out to be fansite rage bait red herring placeholder lies, and the actual dialogue at launch takes a huge swerve from what we think we know? Text is potentially very easy to swap out on launch day.Seriously though, how honest are they obligated to be with beta text? They're not. Christie Golden has already hinted at deliberate misdirection. It'd be kinda genius if that was their plan here.
Don't worry, Sylvanas isn't evil. It's all a matter of perspective, remember? She didn't attack unprovoked to try and destroy the Alliance and all of its leaders in one attack, she just wanted to prevent a war. :^)
