Had to create an account to say how much I love this new animation! So excited! Well done, Blizz :)
I'm sorta 50/50 on it at the moment. I do like the concept, I think it's great. But I feel like there's too little going on in terms of animation, the only real movement you see is the arm waving around. Other than that, your character might as well just have no animation, it's that unnoticeable. So yeah, great concept, poor animation.
I can see the lore connections here with Paladins actually being Priests before they became Paladins.
I think the page flipping is unnecessary. Just opening a tome, then casting, should be more than enough. In fact, the tome should probably remain open while casting in combat, it's going to look silly to have Paladins casually opening books, ruffling their pages, then closing them, then opening them again.
And once again, female tauren get shafted.
Needs more work.
The whole thing going on with the book, while cool at first glance, I just can't see the point in having it there. I like the "finished" animation, minus the book, where it feels like the paladin is putting a lot of energy in to the heal, and I feel like that's what a paladin's heal should be like; nothing graceful such as something a priest would be like. (PS, why aren't priests using this holy book too? Surely they have just as much of a connection with the light. It won't even apply to shadow, either, since they have shadow mend).
Really feels like the head should tilt down towards the book - so they look as if they're actually reading something from it.Just seems ... off otherwise: "Hey that guy just pulled out a book, and then ignored it while he cast his spell".
that's cool. isn't this what the animation is wc3 was? it's been a while since I've played it but I distinctly remember a book animation for the paladin hero's healing spell. pretty nice to see that in game :)
It reminds me of Uther's animation when he's channeling the mount in Heroes of the Storm. They really do need to work on that animation, because it seems a bit lacking. Its probably a work in progress. Here's to hoping Holy Paladins get new spell visuals, as they can be counted among casters... but healers.
"My church is the field of battle; I mean why do you think I carry this book around, my health?" - Uther
Thats terrible.
I LOVE IT!
I want this as an option for some mage spells :c Maybe as a glyph.
I don't like it. The way the book awkwardly drops into your hand from nowhere, the way the pages flip so fast (or at all really). It's a really corny casting animation.
SO for poor guys like with 0 imagination they are looking on guildmate to heal while searching and casting it with theirs holy power at the same time.
I don't get why people don't understand and dislike this animation. The book is used as a holy power granter. The coolest animation.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-GI love it! *insert BC Trailer here*
I love the idea....but can the character actually LOOK at the pages? I want more themed animations in casting, but they need to make sense and not just thrown together. I wanna see Priests go into prayer for longer spell casts or channeling.
