I used to love arms warrior in legion, but in bfa its now dead for me. I dont want to stay and wait 5-10 sec for cooldown
i haven't logged into my main (arms warrior) since 8.0 hit. for no specific reason, just doing other stuff irl. enjoying time off from raiding after my guild got our H kill. but reading the patch notes, i assumed overpower replaces colossus smash in our rotation and colossus smash replaces battle cry and everything else will probably feel exactly the same. like the tooltips for all those spells really just made a swap with each other. overpower is new CSCS is new BCBC is now a buff? i forgot the rest i only read it once. :pi'm not concerned though. there is nothing in this world that blizz could ever do to make me switch. i've been Arms and nothing BUT arms for all 11+ years because I love the lore behind it. and i'm not doing Mythic content no more so i'm not forced to play a spec i hate to progress. Heroics are still a sweet spot for playing how you like and not worry about min/maxing and i'm perfectly content with that. i had my taste of mythic raiding in WoD, and it was interesting and fun to switch to fury for certain fights like the bird boss but i hate how "busy" that spec is. it's like...ugh.fury feels like it's for people that can't sit still and jump constantly while dpsing and probably have a fidget spinner in their other hand. too &*!@ing busy. it feels like fury wont' even auto-attack unless i press something. the only frustrating part of arms is waiting for procs. and i think the intent of the BfA changes was to get rid of that? (i hope). having our dps completely dependent on whether or not the game feels like refreshing my MS is a #$%^ty way to play. i could have perfect computer level reaction timing and do 1m in one fight and 2m in another fight just cause of &*!@ty procs. (exaggeration but, you know how it is) so if they increased it baseline and removed procs completely, i'm down for that. i just been feeling super lazy to login cause i know i have to fix addons and such and such but i do look forward to messing around in LFR just to see how i do. btw i HATE the new sweeping strikes as a cd. wtf! like...ugh! a small window to cleave? but ^&*!ing rogues can enable/disable their cleaving like an on off button. ARG! /rage
bro lets be real after wod warriors arms just was ignored and make it a bad class have the lowest mobility after nerfed defensive healing spell one after one enraged regen removed - victory rush from 30% to 15%(here i think somone don't like this class from that company :)),i mean there is no spot for arms war in war mode and 15% hp its useless you get it down back from 2-3 dots )and after removing charge stun and remove global cooldown on hamstring what can i say i still hope they will remove that alliance shield apparence from defensive stance aniway maybe they will buff class like in legion just for one patch after enjoy it to play nerfed for another 2-3 years!
I hope they redesign the Mastery in 8.1 because Deep Wounds is just lazy and bad.I think anytime you have a situation where a stats should be avoided at all costs (mastery in this case) it's a problem. Some other specs have this problem too.
I just don't like the new reworked Tactician passive. I think it was way lot better when it restarted the CD on Mortal Strike and Colossus Smash.
tell me what its best self healing potential?i think u are blind >Blahblahwhatever
I just miss the old Overpower animation, I felt powerful...
Will miss legion arms, I hit like a truck, the pacing felt really good to me. The exexcute phase interactions felt really fun to do, on top of executioner's percision - was cool :) (I did read that executioner's percision will be coming back via azerite talent if it's the one to pick that'll be cool).Either way I'm open to BFA arms, pre-patch arms doesn't feel terrible but not quite as satisfying as legion arms. I'm hearing good things on arms @120 so that's exciting! Hopefully they take another look at mastery! Does feel bad to have mastery as best before pre-patch to worst after pre-patch.
GG blizz, this is what happens when you hire a bunch of purple haired hipsters and feminists as class designers, failure after failure, anyone try doing 2s lately? wow look at that, assa/disc is the most powerful, its only been 8 years! and their the strongest they've ever been! how many warriors do you see anymore? yeah, that's right
Arms has really taken a hit.The rotation is just not fun. Sweeping strikes is not fun. Execute phase is not fun.As a diehard Arms warrior since vanilla, I picked up Fury for a short time in Legion and spent about 50/50 time Fury and Arms in pre-patch. I was absolutely shocked at how much better designed the spec was: The rotation flows, self heal, rage generation, trinket ability synergy, tier bonus synergy, damage throughput.Compared to Fury, Arms is a joke. Fury is fun, it flows, you feel good for using Rampage, Execute etc. There is always an obstacle / sacrifice to fun for Arms, and it just feels so unsatisfying.
Fun in PvE, sucks balls in PvP
I remembered something critical. All that in my last post presumes having the talent that to me was the essence of the Legion Arms Warrior: Focused Rage. Focused Rage was the key to having that decisive, savage strike that defined the class. With 3 stacks of Focused Rage loaded you get a CS reset, you hit Recklessness (sometimes macro'd with Avatar and paid for with Anger Management), hit CS, and slay. That combination was the center of the Arms fantasy: build power, activate cd's, and take them out.And ironically Blizz agreed; the new way was to combine Focused Rage with Overpower. At least that basic idea's got promise; make something obviously essentially Arms actually part of the the care Arms kit. Kinda like the much-heralded Sweeping Strikes. Maybe you'd noticed that Mortal Combo didn't make the grade? (Isn't it a little strange that Arms abilities kept sliding into and out of Talent status. Rend? Cleave? What? Remember when the Trauma talent made Slam and WW inflicted bleed? Wasn't that a more elegant solution than needing Rend and inflicting Deep Wounds on a non-DoT class? Or having Cleave and SS? Slam and Heroic Strike? Of all the things I don't miss about Vanilla the number of redundant barely-different warrior abilities was damn sure on the list. Warriors never needed more ability clutter, what they needed, what Legion delivered, was using Arms getting to use abilities in combinations and Fury being about mastering rotation. Now I'll grant in both instances what was missing was some branching in those rotations; doing the same thing over and over out of efficiency got boring but that's something that's solution is varying up fight structuring from heavily favoring 1v1 to giving reason to bust out more tricks -which Warriors found reason to do and did! And again, Blizz, apparently inspired by the effin' Destruction Warlock, agreed and made Sweeping Strikes standard kit again.)Except no CS resets, only two Op stacks (at ****ing 20% per! Holy sh*t someone must have hated Focused Rage which started Legion at +50% and finished it at +30%), and of course Fury getting Recklessness (and Siege Breaker aka Diet Colossus Strike). It's not a little telling that WoWHead's Arms guide prioritizes the Mastery substat (which provides Overpower resets and thus logically would be what you'd want maximize your Mortal Strike's hitting power) as FOURTH with only Versatility having less value. And Overpower, formerly about punishing dodges and a tasty burst of pain for Rogues, is now just another stupid random clicky. I hope everybody who didn't like having CS on random reset is happy having something far less consequential and far more generic in it's place instead. Now Fury is having the time of it's life and Arms is lethargic. Arms is more than ever about waiting. Not even preparing like with Anger Management and Focused Rage, nope. Just sit back, watch your cooldowns count down, and wonder what it's like to play a Retribution Paladin. Yeah, maybe Night Elf Paladins will be a thing, maybe you could roll one and see what leveling's like? Maybe try out having a Cleanse and getting to Bubble and being able to heal yourself... doesn't that sound good? Sure your mobility's not even half what is was, but they can sure hit hard and they've always gotten unique class mounts and they get Blessing of Kings and now you always want that. Yeah, Paladin...
So what's the fix?Make Anger Management the Mastery ability of Arms. Clearly our current Mastery is weak; it's a fusion of a neutered generic damage ability and an entirely out of place damage boost that's applied with a bizarrely sporadic implementation. Just about everyone else's is a straight boost to effectiveness; Arms is trying instead do it two different weak ways and it's just embarrassing.Make Arms about timing and combinations again. We might not get Recklessness back but we can once again be about building strength and striking hard. Also?Let's be ****ing done with this shuffling core abilities in and out of Talents. Let's slaughter those worthless sacred cows and trim Slam and Heroic Strike and WW and SS and Rend and whatever else down to half that number of abilities and make them core to Arms. Blizz managed to add to Fury* while consolidating Arms once before; they can do it again. Warbreaker, the actual artifact sword, had a pretty fat selection of neat power modifying abilities. Let's get some of those back in packages as Talent options. Arms needs to be flexible while having a controlled, but necessarily limited, style of spike damage and those artifact powers were excellent expansions of that model. And that's how you save Arms long term.* (Furious Slash, Raging Blow, Rampage, etc. Notice that when Fury needs tuning up it gets new toys but Arms just gets the same abilities juggled around?)
