they are getting cleverer and cleverer. But still they haven't found out the simplest (and very effective) method to scum
Why blur the link? Obscurity does not lead to security. Better for us to know what the URL is so we can avoid it than to allow someone to stumble into it blindly.
That's a reminder NEVER to use sponsored links. Sponsored links are at best simply click-through sites trying to take advantage of popular key words, or at worst a phishing site. And I guess that occasionally they are legitimate advertisement.. So if you like ads, knock yourself out.And this is also a reminder to get an authenticator ASAP. Scammers are getting more and more clever, and it's possible that one day you'll get unlucky and get suckered. One of the person that I work with got infected with a virus from a USB key, even after I disabled autorun on his computer. The virus creator changed the icon of an executable to that of a folder. He double-clicked on the "folder" and got infected. Devilishly simple.

I haven't clicked that link, as I have the armory on my bookmark bars...but if you have an authenticator, would you account still be at risk?
If you have an authenticator, your account is mostly safe.If someone manages to get your password AND your authenticator code—for instance, if they have a keylogger installed while you try to log into the Battle.Net site—then they would have a brief (10 minute?) window in which they could log into your account, and once they were in they could wreak havoc. It's still a TREMENDOUS difference, though, between that and a wide open account.
Anyone who's reasonably cautious would notice the url:"h ttp://armory.wonldofwarcraft.com/wowarmory/"This sounds legit.I put space in to make sure I didn't catch some poor stupid bastard...
That's actually a pretty convincing URL, since it so closely copies the URL that the Armory USED to be on.
Ugh. That looks so cheesy. I don't understand how people fall for things like that."WOW armory" is the first giant red flag that I saw.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
