When Blizzard nerfs something by 50%, you know it was massively overpowered. Makes you question why it took so long to nerf it.
Incoming 1000$ store mount to refill Bobby's bonus.
Poor boy. I hope he won't starve.
I propose we scrap digital currency transfers. People's opinions would change if it took 10 trucks to deliver his monthly salary in paper notes/coins, while others received theirs in an envelope. The transfer of money is too invisible these days. Bring back the good old days!
This changes everything I thought about him. What a nice guy. Looking out for the little people. I'm sure he'll make it up with the TBC deluxe sales because of the mount added to it and the in-game TBC classic shop.
People all mad about how much people are makingYet the same people would take that money in a second if they couldYou know you're all hypocrites at heart
People think this is just PR, and yes that probably is a huge factor. But I reckon his huge pay bonuses would not have gone down well within Blizzard either. Especially if colleagues/friends were losing their jobs, and whilst everyone was working overtime to release Shadowlands due to covid.
Nice bit of PR but in reality it means nothing. Most CEOs dont pay tax cause they technically dont earn anything instead they can borrow from banks like its nothing and use there stocks as collateral. So they can live like kings and know if the banks ask for some money they can sell a little bit of stock to cover any interests and the tax man cant tax you anything as long as you dont sell off huge amounts of stock and if you sell a little well your accountant knows how to deal with that!
I bet the earnings call is going to show a sharp decline in subs for retail and this is preventative to protect him from some fallout.
Imagine people crying about someone getting paid for doing what they were hired to do. Smh

The article says it was done based on shareholder feedback, so yeah it was because enough people criticized him for it
Cry me a river... So he went from earning 100 to like 50 times more than a human needs for a very good lifestyle.
