I got a trial for Christmas from a classmate, and I liked the game when I played it, but I did not have the funds to purchase it, so I forgot about it.Flash forward to a year or so later. My cousin, also playing the game, recommended it to my sister, who bought it and started playing, so I thought to myself "Why not?" and also bought an account. Been hooked ever since.
My boyfriend got me to play it, just before BC came out.I made a tauren hunter on his account, and it was sooo boring haha. But he kept convincing me to try and play him. I hated it Then we went to my aunt's and uncle's for the weekend, who both play WoW. I made a night elf hunter named Amariene on his account to play with my aunt and uncle. I got level 16, and I sucked sooo bad, but it was really fun.A few other of my friends played Horde, as well as my boyfriend, so I started a male undead warrior named Gumballs as soon as I got my own account. I picked a warrior because I had tried my boyfriends warrior and liked it, and I have no clue why I picked a guy undead. o_O By this time, everyone was raiding Ony and AQ, and I felt like a complete noob :PNow I'm in a guild with all my RL friends, who a few of them I've gotten into the game :P
I always loved the pet system in games like Diablo 2 (for the Necromancer) and Neverwinter Nights, so my first class was a Night Elf hunter in the old beta days; however I quit playing after the Beta ended due to lack of interest and people to play with. I started again shortly after Burning Crusade released by being poked back into the game by my significant other, re-rolling a Troll rogue this time and leveling them together through Azeroth and Outlands, ooh-ing and aah-ing at neat things like the flying quests in Hellfire and the weird critters in Zangarmarsh. The best times of the game were had when we finally tackled Karazhan with our group of friends, back before we knew what Recount was and everyone had little to no true expertise or mastery of their class. We even finished Zul'Aman with the same group a few weeks later and were fascinated by the detail Blizzard put into the instance. Every drop was exciting and new, and there was never any animosity about who got which item, since all the fun was had in being there and mastering the unknown challenges. Sure, we died a bunch, but it was all part of the learning experience, and every time we got a little closer to success people redoubled their efforts, finally leading to us landing the killing blow on Zul'Jin (for whom I feel bad even until this day). After Wrath released our little group disbanded due to time and interest differences, so most of Naxxramas (which I had never seen until then) was run with mediocre pick-up groups that somewhat ruined the experience by being overpopulated with impatient 14-year olds. I would like to tackle some of the new Ulduar content with the old ragtag group of ill-equipped adventurers someday, but I wouldn't change anything of the past game for the life of me.
My Step dad bought himself a Mac PC... he wanted a few games for it, so he bought Diablo pack. inside was a trial for WoW.Now at this point in time, i had heard nothing but bad things about wow. and theres was nothing good about it that i liked. So i tried out the trial. downloaded patches overnight *sigh*. -- A few years back my step dad also bought me Call of Duty 2, where on that i met my efriend Patrik, who also played wow, so because of him i made a character on his ream Aman'Thul. --My very FIRST character was a warrior, who reached lvl 22 before being sent to Burning Stepps as an outcast because he couldnt kill a lvl 16 murloc, he stayed in Burning stepps for weeks b4 being sent to oblivion by the Delete button.Which is when i made a druid! :)--------------------------would i change things if i could go back? no. i would rather die then have to change the past.i love my online life i have now, ive got the best efriends ever, and god knows where i would be without them.
I started with a trial account because my cousin played. My first char was a nelf hunter dont really know why i picked it but still... After the 10 days i never touched that accoutn anymore and i created a real one there i had a nelf druid lvl 16 a tauren warrior lvl11 and then i decided and created my troll shammy which by now is lvl 80 the druid and the warriors are both deleted, yea lost a little piece of nostalgia there but i still dont regret deletiong them.
The week before Christmas '08, my cousins felt like trying WoW. Since we each pitched in for our subscription for DDO, and I couldn't do it alone, I switched with them. I chose hunters, because I like ranged classes, and I'm hooked. Dwarf Hunter, named Agashtad. I made like, almost all the worst choices for his character development, but I still loved playing him.My first PvP moment... I think it was WSG. I remember killing a few people, but since I was new to the game, I didn't do very well. I didn't do too much PvP after that, since I couldn't do too well. I eventually had to abandon Aggy, and I made a new one. Hunter still, my first character has taught me what (not) to do.Looking back at Aggy, I realize how hard it was to make cash when I didn't know much. Now, my new character, Maikian, I'm saving up for epic flying (2k gold to go), have maxed professions, and Dual spec. Sometimes, I wish that I was still a newbie.Ahh, the good old days. When everything is fresh, and the fun of the game is learning what to do. I believe, that the best part of any game, is learning to fend for yourself. (Thats why I hardly read the manuals when I get a new game. Its more fun that way.)And now, Aggy is reincarnated as a Death Knight, on one of my friends servers.
Played Runescape before WoW, where I enjoyed questing and doing events with real-life friends. Then one of them introduced the group to WoW, just before the summer holidays, and I created a Troll Shaman. My computer was awful, and I blamed it on Durotar... After making it to Orgrimmar, I deleted him.Made a Night Elf Druid, Zetrix, who is my favorite, but not main, character today. I enjoyed leveling, even though that I was looking in the group for some of the time, to get past 15 fps... I don't know why I picked the "nature" classes at first, they just seemed more interesting. The next day, I was level 10, where I had trouble doing the bear quest. After a small break, I made a human mage, who is my main today. I think I made him because I liked the mystical feel, and of course, polymorphing players. How awesome is that?
My friend Jon got me into WoW back when The Burning Crusade was released. I was ish at first since I hardly used the internet at all during that time, but I gave it a shot.I rolled as a paladin my first class, then I quit him at about level 22 because I got sick of people telling me to heal. I then went to warrior and never looked back, ending up becoming one of my guild's main tanks now.If I could change it though, I should have stayed with a paladin. Sadly, paladins have a advantage all around in tanking compared to warriors.
Haha. Nice thread. The person who got me playing WoW was my roommate's older brother who bought me the game for Christmas in 2004, a couple months after retail. My first character was an undead warlock who I played for about a year. I just remember seeing him play his lowbie lvl 15 warlock in RFC and I was so entranced with it that I also made a warlock. Fun times!
A friend in my Web Design class back in my Senior year of high school played WoW. She talekd about how awesome it is and suggested I try it out. October 6, 2006 I went out and bought the game. That night I installed it and started my very first character, my Warlock. She was on Undermine at the time, and I only played her for about 6 levels. After that I stopped playing her. (eventually I went back and leveled her high enough to xfer her to medivh)The next day I asked my friend which server she played on and I decided to go to Medivh instead. I rolled a paladin on it, but I got bored fast. So I stopped playing the pally and decided that I wanted to try out a druid.Almost 3 years later my druid is 80 and in the top guild on my server. If I had the chance to go back and change any of that I wouldn't. I enjoyed all of my experiences in WoW, even the time I did a striptease on my Lock for a 6 slot bag. That gave me a good laugh.EDIT: not only did my friend help sway me to play it, but a couple days before I got it the south park episode Make Love, Not Warcraft, showed me how fun it looks. I was glad to see I didn't have to kill a ton of boars to level up. That episode was what pushed me to get it.
I'd played all the other WoW games there were out there, and when I saw that a freind of mine had this new "World of Warcraft" game, I had to have it. Warcraft's had me forever.
Ohhh I started playing after my neighbor became obsessed and I turned 13 XD. So, once I got the trial, I rolled a Night Elf Hunter and was hooked ever since. I still play (except now that I keep forgetting to renew my account XD) on either my hunter or my druid... Resto FTW =P. Would I want to never have played WoW? Nahhh there's nothing to do where I live, so it was either sit on my thumbs or play WoW.
