I ran into a bug where the 'making gold out of thin air' may have come from. It looked like after I cancelled and reposted an item, it gave me the gold in the mail like I sold it... odd. But now, I just got an locked out and banned, for nothing I did, but the AH did itself! So sad/mad : (
AH IS WORKING!
These changes to the AH, coupled with the "last to list sells first" implemented in the previous update basically mean that only bots and players with automated trading add-ons (which are really the same; they might still need some mouse clicks, but they do all the decision-making automatically) will be doing any selling. No human (at least no human who wants to actually experience the game world) will be able to repost hundreds of items every 10 or 20 seconds, 24 hours a day, like those bots / add-ons can. And instead of a couple of bots in your server, you're now "competing" with every bot in every realm in the region, all of which are checking and reposting their listings every few seconds.Good luck trying to convince people to level professions when the only way to sell most goods now is to give up on doing anything other than reposting your auctions non-stop and hoping you'll manage to sell something before some bot (or some dozen bots) matches you, guaranteeing your item will not be sold. Also, Blizzard is now hiding the seller names, so there isn't even any way to see who is selling each item, to make sure you're buying from an actual human, or to report the bots.I guess after "Asian children" and "people with phones", "AH bots" is the new target demographic.
Getting diablo 3 vibes here..
Was able to use the Engineer's AH this morning and post my stuff...majority of the listings (190-225 leggos) didn't have any others at that level so basically just set them at a similar 'cheap' price that was the previous day. Some commodities sold, some leggos...I don't know if there was any bug for me.
Ah, yes. A major bug found upon release in production but not in test servers. Such new and unexpected event.Always makes you question whether these patches are actually tested by someone before realease.
