What a great questline that isn't complete filler at all, with incredible amounts of story advancement (absolutely none).
We've defeated the old gods, it's obviously sargeras, he tries to set himself free
Hmm. Very interesting with the added bits about Eyir and Bwonsamdi having some kind of conflict in the past. Maybe it relates to that soul he lost before, that he mention in the 8.0 Horde quests. (Though this all makes me think Vol'jin is becoming a loa, even if he doesn't realize it yet. Loa of the Horde, perhaps?)
Meanwhile we still haven't learned who Bwonsamdi's "boss" is. It's either Bwonsamdi's boss (Mueh'zala?), or Elune. They're building up to a deah/undeath/Shadowlands themed filler expansion before tackling Void Lords.Edit: one remaining death-related force they didn't explore is the Drust and Gorak Tul. But I don't see how they would be involved in this instance.
Old Gods.We will question everyone and no one did it, so it must be the Old Gods.
Seem to be unable to pick up the quest , Baine has nothing for me.
It would be a wonderful twist if Elune was in fact behind Sylvanas ascension. It would add further sting to the night elves burns to learn that their benevolent goddess had a hand in so many deaths.
Well , all we have to do to find the most likely culprit is anazlyse the Death Realm of WoW.I am honestly surprised no one mentions Helya , since Odyn declared that she grows in power and that what we did to her only broke the curse she placed upon him.The Avatars of Death in WoW are Lich King ( creation of the Legion) , Helya ( creation of the Titans , it doesnt matter if other forces altered her she was a creation of the Titans) , Bwonsamdi , Eyir ( thou' she is not an avatar of Death she is more like an angel that guides "worthy" souls not to end up in the shadowlands) and then we have Mueh'zala( which we know little of) , Yogg-Saron (self-proclaimed God of Death) , Naarus (we mentioned Eyir so it would be hypocritical to leave them out of it) and E'lune(which we know little of) , Eonar is imprisoned. So , to cut things down:1.Lich King denied any involvement , he seems to serve , now , more as a literal Jailer of the Damned.2.Bwonsamdi has no reason because he actually needs Vol'jins soul and no reason to give him the power that he doesnt have to become more powerful than himself.3.Eyir job is to overview the Valajar souls and those worthy to serve Odyn and has no power over death but over souls.4.Yogg-Saron is a self-proclaimed God of Death that has no power over death so......you know.5.Eonar is imprisoned and she cannot act over things she cannot touch or see.We can leave these 5 out of the equation and we have left:1.Helya which we got the confirmation that she is not dead but gaining power and had every reason to make Sylvanas the Warchief as these 2 had a pact.So more likely to be her.2.Mueh'zala which we know nothing of and seems that his power is limited to the Shadowlands since there are no one that we know of that he has in his sways.More so we dont know what his powers are exactly.3.Naarus are more of an empty vessel with no personality that which like to be worshiped and we dont know how far their powers in the death spectrum reaches.4.E'lune althou' permanently spoken of we know nothing of her.We can furthermore cut down and come to the conclusion that it is either Mueh'zala or Helya.
Rezan is also connected to death at least tangentially - his power kept Rastakhan alive long past his normal expiration date, after all.
Guys can you please stay on point and speculate about who it is? Blizzard has already decided what the story will be in the next 2 expansions so bear in mind we are not (supposed at least) getting some poor story.
Any questline that takes me back to Icecrown is worth it in my eyes. Higlight of my ten year Wow career - moreso due to friends than content.
Ugh, I really hope we’re allowed to kill Baine before this expansion is over.Every word he says oozes Alliance propaganda.
I'll just default to my old fall-guy: Wrathion is somehow involved. That little manipulator has been too quiet since the end of Pandaria and stealing men and supplies from Admiral Taylor's Garrison in WoD.If you remember, he wanted all of Azeroth united under one dominant faction... he was extremely angry that Garrosh wasn't executed in Seige and then later had a hand in releasing Garrosh to start the events that led to WoD and then Legion... I think his end goal is the same, that is, to have one faction ruling alone over all of Azeroth and the choice of Sylvannas as Warchief almost certainly would have been the right choice to once again have the factions at each other's throats. He might not be THE force behind all this but I think this is all playing into his endgame/design.From Wowpedia after Seige:"When the adventurer arrives back in the Tavern, Wrathion is pacing around the room; awaiting information about what happened in Orgrimmar. The adventurer told him about what happened in Orgrimmar and he was not happy with the outcome: calling Varian Wrynn a fool for allowing the Horde to continue existing. Tong the Fixer was infuriated with his constant speaking and his lack of understanding of the lessons of Pandaria. Tong said that the Alliance and the Horde are not strong despite each other, they are strong because of one another. Wrathion thinks he's just a fool waiter, and starts walking out the Tavern and proclaimed for the battle to come, he will leave nothing to chance."
