Tanks need updates on their spell as well! Comparing to this, protection Warrior is like something 100000000 years ago. Pls make all specs cooler soon
Really nice looking spell animations. My personal favorite is Hymn and Nova - beautiful. Good job Blizz.
Divine Hymn is amazing!
I couldn't watch it; it's just too dark. The inky black potion probably wasn't the best idea. Please do it without the dark environment. :)
Damn after seeing the holy priest changes, I wished they changed Holy Pala too :)
Best video I've seen so far regarding the new spell animations !Amazing detail and great idea with the side-by-side comparisons !10/10, thanks !* a drooling Holy Priest *
Wow, I love the new animations (and the use of the inky black potion too).I actually like the levitating animations as well. I disliked the "steady as you are" statue-like standing up in the air, and move like no extra effort is needed. But I do wonder how this looks on other races and even on other classes, since you can make everyone on group levitate.
I don't know how it would do for all classes, but I loved the dimming on this - it made the particle effects so much more visible. Also loving the new animations.
We are going to get so many rerolls back to casters xd
WoW! They look amazing!
For those who wonder how new animations look on a particular race/gender combination, here're videos with all possible combinations, including glyph effects on spells.
Rolling Holy ASAP
I always thought it was a little weird that Priests could Levitate things, but I get that very heavenly, ethereal grace feeling from the new animation that almost makes me think it was intended for Priests to just have it up the whole fight, especially with the wings from Apotheosis. The only problem is I don't think the "arms out, looking to the heavens" thing would work with anyone else who's affected, like a Death Knight. On the other hand... the "stomp/push" animation from Holy Nova completely breaks that heavenly grace vibe. It's the sort of animation I would imagine a Monk getting for a Ki-based radial knockback, not for a Holy Priest.
More details on animations is nice, but the constant floating in the air thing combined with arms wide open after casting anyhting makes characters look a bit weird. In the belf video the character did not seem to close their hands at any point after casting = not looking good. I've personally always liked holy nova for being "low key" exsplosions and somewhat modest looking. The new animation looks super awsome, but not a one bit priest like. Also Levitate looks like the priest is feeling really uncertain with the arms open wide -thingie, the old animation made it look like it ws another tuesday in Azeroth - this is how we roll. :) It is lovely that we get some new looking animations, but although the effect can be visible and flashy, maybe not all of them needs to work the same way?
The floaty, marionette arms will drive me *insane.* They look so stupid; it's like being stuck in the combat pose (that was finally fixed, thankfully). And do we REALLY need to float up in the air so much? What the hell is the point of floating up and down repeatedly while casting? For Divine Hymn, sure! Have at it! PoH doesn't need it.
