I learned today that a lot of people are playing wow for their daily dose of female legs
The idea that women can't show skin without being disrespected, and HAS to be covered up😂😂Somehow more sexist than acknowledging she has thighs but why would y'all admit that 😂
Actually I'd love to hear how this is respecting women instead of paying their employees the bonuses and profit sharing they earned instead of pumping up corporate profits for Ybarra and Kotick
Original Vanessa > New Vanessa. If they are going to make character models look the same across games I recommend they change the wow Tyrande to match the one from hots.
My bigger beef is the lack of the mask. It was the key focus to the whole look. Maybe they could have come up with a "mask pulled down" model if they didn't want her wearing it all the time. It was still her father's symbol - She could still honour him even if the current Defias has fallen apart.
Vanessa's old model looks better.
My two cents is basically, "Who cares? It's just pixelated thighs." This change is only in the Human Heritage Armor quest and doesn't change her design in the dungeon or in the Rogue Order Hall. So the people that are like "YEAAAH COVER THOSE LEGS" don't realize that this quest line can only be done once per account. And also keep in mind that Vanessa is only 1 out of 4 or 5 NPCs that dress like that. The others including Inquisitor Whitemane (but she got turned into a Death Knight), Argent Confessor Paletress in the Argent Tournament, and Jandice Barov in Scholomance. The fact that she's wearing that is a rarity in of itself. And I do want to point the hypocrisy that it's okay if a player dresses like that, but if an NPC wears those leggings then "Ohh no, that's too much for players to handle."As for Aggra, her design is alright... but her character "growth" was sporadic. Literally, all she did was say "We should uphold our traditions and host a grand celebration in respect to all orcs!" And then Drek'thar is like "Awesome, you're our new Farseer for the Frostwolf Clan." And this is before the festivities even start... If she helped the player create the celebration, then I would believe she deserves the title and the personal growth she had. And the whole scene of Drek'thar denying Thrall to take up the mantle of Farseer for Aggra is even worse when you realize that Thrall has still lost all connection to the elements since Legion, and this could've been his one chance to actually be redeemed.
@Uchur How exactly is my deleted comment off-topic when the comments I was addressing aren't off-topic and are still here? There are comments on this thread talking about how it makes sense for Vanessa to "use their sexuality" so being skimpy was okay; but by that "it's her choice" logic, if it's just a character choice, they have a right to choose to wear leggings too and that choice should be equally celebrated rather than called censorship. There are comments complaining about the alleged hypocrisy of "covering up" female characters but not covering up all of them; however considering some characters are skimpy and some less skimpy it's clearly not about puritanism, simply about variety, as opposed to ALL female characters being skimpy (e.g. the same hotpants look for Whitemane/Paletress, Valeera, Vanessa, Jandice; and the same croptop model for Sylvanas, Alexstrasza and Ysera). There are comments talking about how Blizzard needs to stop their de-sexy-fying agenda; I pointed out that all the plate bikini and cloth hotpants mogs are still in the game, that loads of female characters still show skin (not just Aggra as a literal counterexample in this very thread, but Alexstrasza's and Sylvanas' thighs, Tyrande's boob window cutout armor, Valeera's new model - hell they're even adding brand-new HD mail bikini mogs that were datamined).
Terrible decision. Old version was much better.I hope they don't keep making terrible decisions like this in the future regarding character outlooks.
Tbh if they wanted to get vanessa closer to her hearthstone's design they failed. The differences are too obvious. First of all and most important. Her hearthstone model has both leggings and trousers. Meanwhile, her new model wears some pants that don't even match with the rest of her clothes. Considering that there are even private servers where you can do this, i won't believe that they couldn't put her both pants and leggings. This one feels like a fudge to me. Also, and here being more nitpicky. Check her face in hearthstone and her wow's model. How many piercings does she have in each one? Anyway, this one is not that relevant.Tldr: i liked her old model more. These pants don't match with the rest of her outfit. Maybe if they tried both with pants and leggings... but her model feels weird like this. Like too rushed or with little care put into.
