Now if they could only revamp the Northshire abbey. It looks really shabby
I know it'sfor new players but..really? I remember when different Class trainers were located in different locations..for instance the filthy warlocks way down there in the tavern...but who cares anymore. It's for new players after all. But i really would like a returning use for them.
The Silver Hand banner in Orgrimmar needs to go. Replace it with the Blood Knight banner.
It's a really nice touch, but I think it will be cooler if they elaborate more on this as it has so much potential to bringing class immersion back. For example, what if instead of getting your talents unlocked automatically as you level, you instead be given a quest to visit your class trainer who will then be giving you the talent options that you have unlocked. The Trainer will be giving a short explanation on the various new 'techniques' available to you. Once the talent has been selected, the Trainer will then give you another short quest for you to sort of 'train' that ability (if it's an active ability) - think of the old pickpocketing and lock-picking quest for rogues - or training dummy quest (if it's a passive ability). Once you are high level enough, your trainers can send you to other trainers around the world, and eventually to the trainer located at your Order Hall.
Alliance has two trainers, which creates options to show many race fantasies. Horde has single trainers which looks worse. Not to mention that disgustingly human blood elf.
Well it doesn't seem like that much of work, but I'm still wondering why since class trainers have been useless for quite some time.Reminds me of Uther's tomb, updated at the beginning of BFA for no reason as of yet.
I think this is nice but I'll love it if they make trainers actually train again. Buying our spells and talents maybe would be awesome to have back in the game!
Just why? Making class trainers pointless for the sake of simplicity was bad enough, putting them in one building to awkwardly stare at each other is just incredibly lazy. The NPCs look completely out of place, like they go there after work to cosplay as Warcraft heroes. Why would you invest resources into destroying a bit of class fantasy for no reason at all? Having the shady warlock trainers hang around in the basement of the Slaughtered Lamb for example was a fantastic detail to the game, why would you ever stop sending people there? Especially after you tried to recreate this experience with order halls in Legion? Is it really too confusing for a new player to click on a guard and look where your class trainer is located? I'm getting the feeling that they want to redesign the entire game for the people who couldn't find the PVP vendors...
I love this kind of updates that bring more RP into the game but I wonder... why do the trainers have to be clustered in the same one place? Wasn't it better when there were a few Warlocks in that underground place in SW doing Warlock things? It felt like you were part of some cool kids club.
This is honestly really terrible in my opinion, class trainers were previously located in areas that were really flavorful such as humans warlock having to hide secretly in the basement of a rundown tavern. Now instead they all hang out in generic trainer building.I also wish class trainers were a bit more relevant in retail. Learning every skill from them would probably be excessive given how fast you'll level in shadowlands but some reason to go to them at all would be nice. It would be a bit like mini orderhalls which were almost universally beloved.
What's gonna happen to the Cata Vendors?
Orgeimmar and Storm wind are long overdue for a revamp, they really need to get up to date. The ending to the new leveling zone showed just how bad stormwind looks by 2020 standards, or compared to Boralus (which is so much better looking but will now sit abandoned while we all still cramp into the old Minecraft city)
So all class trainers in OG are being removed from the valley of honor above the auction house, from the little area next to the valley of wisdom, from the lower level of the drag... just to put them into one building nobody asked for? Right now this leaves all the former locations of those NPCs empty. Are they being replaced with new NPCs? What are they making room for? More civilians from undercity, goblinds or tourists?
