These are pretty nice UI improvements. A welcome sight to be sure. Especially the map pins are great. Thx Blizz!
Cool! Seems like a good change!
This is actually amazing. Saw it on the streams and it's a great qol addition. Great work Blizzard!
I like this change, since that way we don't rely on addons that increase the RAM usage.
My opinion might be a kinda controversial one but ... Don't change the quest marker icon. Add the tomtom thingy, sure. But don't change the exclamation point icon. It's a staple of WoW.
Going full korean mmo, we just need more anime, i mean anima
I see they are implementing more changes basing on FFXIV (if there was an MMO before FFXIV that implemented that correct me please). Good to see those changes.
they could have just colored the markers as purple. but i do like how they differentiated between storyline quests and side quests
I love these pins. Hate to have to download a damn coordinates addon because people can'ts say "north of newtown" on chat.
Why fix something that isn't broken
The shield feels a little plain. I hope they update it a bit later. (I'm also just spoiled by the FFXIV equivalent.)
Sweet - maybe I can get rid of TomTom now - I have so many addons that just make life easier and sure would be nice to cut down a bit.
I appreciate what addon authors have been - and are still - able to do, but I'm happy when Blizzard bakes an addon's functionality into the base game. If that functionality isn't as robust, then I can still choose to use the addon (assuming the author maintains it) or an alternative. But most of the time, I get to cut down on my addons without sacrificing too much.
These look pretty neat! Especially the map pin addition.I hope they change the text that you link into chat to coördinates just like TomTom, and other such addons, show. That way people know roughly where to go without even having to click the link.It would also be useful if it featured the option to instantly link your own specific coördinates by shift-clicking the Map Pin option. It's just a minor thing but it allows us to more accurately and easily pin a marker right on top of us. This is especially nice if it could be combined with the 3D quest tracking feature that blizz mentioned. It enables the pin to get a 3rd coördinate in case someone is in a mine/cave/air.
Very simple but expressive change. I think colorblind people will appreciate it the most.
Made an account just to comment on this - I'm not thrilled. In fact, I'm less than thrilled about the TomTom-esque waypoint markers. If they can be disabled, I don't care, but if they're up constantly that's going to drive me insane. I have enough clutter on my screen already, I don't need more. If I wanted to run TomTom, I'd have it already....and as for the theory that having the AddOn baked in saves RAM, I'm not buying it. The feature running is using system resources, whether it's an AddOn or not. Now, I have no choice but to commit the system resources to something that is frankly not needed. The minimap already tells me where my quest is, and provides a handy-dandy arrow to point me in the direction of it. The shields around the quest icons, those are cool. The waypoint markers? Not even a little bit. Hopefully, this will be entirely optional.
