Mountain Thane vs Colossus

As Protection Warrior has 2 viable Hero Talent Trees for Raid it is important to note the Key Differences between them.

Mountain Thane plays Champion's Spear and all its associated talents and has the upper hand in terms of gameplay fluidity and consistency due to its frequent additionally gained resets of Shield Slam and Thunder Clap. Which allows for higher rage generation and thus higher casts per minute of Ignore Pain.

Colossus plays Thunderous Roar and its associated talents and gains the benefit of being able to simply do more damage, as well as gaining a 10% Damage Reduction during the cast of Demolish as an additional mini-defensive for predictable tank busters if need be. As well as the stronger critical blocks from Martial Expert. This Tree makes less frequent use of Ignore Pain but gains some of that back through No Stranger to Pain making it so each individual Ignore Pain is 15% larger.

Best Protection Warrior Raid Talent Builds

Protection Warriors Single Target dmg comes primarily from managing Violent Outburst, Shield Slam, and now again with The War Within Execute! Make sure to use Shield Slam first and foremost and maintain Shield Block whenever you are actively tanking. Use Thunder Clap on cooldown to get resets of Shield Slam. Spend rage offensively on Revenge if Shield Slam has not gotten reset through other means.

Raid Punish Build

These Builds are focused primarily on keeping high uptime on Shield Block to keep the 30% damage buff to Shield Slam active for as long as possible, paired together with Punish for maximum Shield Slam damage and defensiveness.

Raid Execute Build

This Build plays exactly the same way as the Punish Build does except that it puts heavy emphasis on pushing the Execute phase of a Boss to 35% instead of the normal 20% and leans heavily into making Execute as strong as possible with Juggernaut. It has a bit less Block uptime and not the added Damage Reduction from Punish which can leave you a slightly bit more vulnerable against a boss, but with enough practice and knowledge of the fight, it should not prove a liability and instead be a great asset in finishing off a boss!

Best Protection Warrior Mythic+ Talent Builds

Mythic+

While it is true that both Hero Trees are good in Raid, it is another story in Mythic+.
Mountain Thane simply outshines Colossus in every aspect as damage intake in Dungeons can and will be significantly higher than in mythic raids without that potential additional help of 4-5 healers and instead having to rely only on yourself and your 4 Party members. The consistent and vastly improved rage generation, and thus increased survivability, of Mountain Thane as well as the addition of Storm Shield are far too practical to consider another Hero Tree.

Delve

The Delve build is the same as the Mythic+ build as it provides the most bang for your buck in terms of your own survivability and damage output.

The M+ section seems to be missing the bottom part of the tree and has the hero talents talented instead.

The Hero Talent Earthquaker can't be used unless you talent Shockwave in the Warrior tree.
